I watched the VHS all the time as a kid and im watching it now, you can definitely see much more that was never noticeable before. Well, i saw the 2 disc dvd set and it did expand it for a pan and scan view but this view is much better for the blu ray.
And i picked it up at bestbuy. Got a free pink alarm clock with my purchase. Cute.
Cool, thanks. I just watched it (my wife had it on while I was cooking so I didn’t really pay attention), looked great! They also have a Pinocchio trailer on the disc, which is getting the same treatment in the Spring for the 70th (!!!) anniversary. The quality (judging by the trailer) doesn’t look as good as Sleeping Beauty, but that’s probably more of an issue with the source material.
I’m definitely picking up Sleeping Beauty. I hope they redo every good Disney cartoon the same way they did Sleeping Beauty.
As long as you don’t expect the video/audio to be as good as modern day movies, it’s okay. If it was any other movie, it would get ripped apart by reviewers.
However, the Godfather 1 & 2 original reel are in awful condition (if you’ve owned the DVD collection, you’d know what I’m talking about), and the fact that they can restore it to this quality is incredible. This is probably the best that Godfather will ever look, so if you’re a big fan, it’s a must-buy.
Here’s an interesting article, from S&V Magazine. They rate each studio in terms of the quality of their Blu-ray releases. I don’t completely agree, but found it interesting nonetheless.
I haven’t seen a disney blu ray yet that wasn’t fuck tops in quality. All the pirates movies, the pixar stuff, all that shit, Disney is working the fuck outta this format.
Yeah, your mother gave it to me, douce. She told me she let you keep the pink alarm clock that came with it though. She said it fits in nicely on your dresser right next to your tampons. Dick. lol
Hell no I don’t have that shit! My girl wants it probably. They need to put Alladin on Blu.
I know Disney outlined their releases and someone did post it up a few months ago. Like, one OG Disney animated movie per season or some shit. I think Wall-E comes out next month.
