Sweet, got Enchanted early

:u: You bastard.

Tomorrow.

i was thinking about buying enchanted, but then i realized i’m an adult

Fuck that. It’s a great movie.

Yo, if you don’t want it I’ll take it off your hands. That’s my favorite movie of all time.

Just finished watching enchanted * bootleg * its a unique movie that i enjoyed. ill pick it up sometime this week with my 10$ off coupon, so, itll be around 15$. * go to cheapassgamer.com to find the coupon. dvd deals section *

Haha, I was just about to post that coupon. I think they got it from another site. I just used it at Wal Mart with no issues and picked up Enchanted on BR for $14.96 plus tax. Got it from Cheapassgamer, but Credit goes to 71Makaveli96 from blu-ray.com.

Dammit.

yea i figured i’d pick it up with the coupon and in case some chick comes over can watch it

was only low $16 after tax, coupon scanned on first try

That’s why I got it, but I’m tempted to watch it on my own right now. If there weren’t all these great games on tonight, I probably would have by now.

That coupon didn’t work for me at Best Buy, Circuit City, and Target. I hate my area sometimes.

Yeah, I don’t even bother trying in my area… and I had an ORIGINAL when I tried (for POTC3), not a print-out.

Use it at Wal Mart. I think that’s had the best results for most people on CAG. You can even go to self checkout and do it yourself if your BR’s are out in the open. If you have trouble, cover the right side of the coupon.

make sure you get the dimensions exactly right

mine scanned instantly, i didn’t use self checkout - went to a cashier

My Walmart, unfortunately, does not stock HDM. Target just didn’t have the disc, and the Circuit City guys scanned it but no dice.

Only Best Buy was, once again, the big dick.

i wish my walmart carried more HDM

they only seem to get the really popular titles, no catalogs

their prices are always pretty good, comparable to amazon

Well, I finally saw Spider-Man 3 running on a 120 Hz display today, and I must say that I’m not particularly impressed. I mean, the 5:5 pulldown made the picture really smooth, but I thought it was a little too smooth, to be honest. The movie just seemed to lose its film look and looked like a low-budget TV show (it also didn’t help that the scene I watched was the one where Peter and Gwen are sitting at a jazz club, which makes the thing look more like a live concert).

So I just got my five free hd dvd’s in the mail. what bittersweet moment that was.

Free $50 GC if you bought an HD-DVD player from Best Buy before Feb 23.

That’s nice of them.

What you saw most likely was a result of something other than 5:5 pulldown, known as Motionflow aka Auto Motion Plus aka Cinemotion. All 120Hz TV’s have a feature where the TV basically process and adds artificial frames in between each real frame. Basically, it interpolates the frame before and the frame after to guess what the “in-between” frame would look like, renders it, and adds it in. The result is something more than 60Hz, is super-smooth…maybe TOO smooth, and it looks like you’re watching camcorder playback or a documentary or something. It looks like shit on live action imo, but it’s great for animated films (Pixar Films, etc…) and video games (I love it for DMC4). 5:5 pulldown is something totally different though.

You can turn off that Motionflow feature, which is what I would greatly recommend. A lot of 120Hz TV owners don’t know this, and return their sets. If you turn this feature off, the TV will still refresh at 120Hz, and if you output your Blu-Ray movie at 1080p24, you’ll get that sexy, film-like, true 5:5 pulldown. You can always turn it back on for the movies/games where you want it.
