I have a few players from the UK in my friends list, and we generally play some lag free matches. Neither me nor my UK friends have had a big problem w/lag spikes, lag input etc. Yes, lag is something extremely important to consider in an online ANYTHING when playing SF4, but is there a better way to match and fight vs. SRK when we’re so scattered across the map?? If lag is an issue, then we’ll see about switching opponents/trying again/whatever we have to do.

This is probably the biggest difference between gfaqs and srk, gfaq warriors always say “lag isn’t an issue”, when it clearly is, ESPECIALLY in SF4.

I’ll call bull on this one. Looking at the posts on the first page and reading the thread on the gamefaqs 360 sf4 page, you guys are trying to prove something. The GF thread is full of posts, from people posting here, about how SRK is scared. You guys should learn “you catch more bees with honey than vinegar.” Because you came in here bitter and most of SRK said “isn’t worth my time.” Not to mention there is a lot of two face posting going on. Over here, it’s “come on guys, we just want to play some games” and over on GF it’s “They are all elitist pricks. what are the scared of?”

The only thing that confuses me is why don’t most of you guys travel. You live in LA, so you have access to like 50 tournaments a month. The OP lives in Dallas, I’m sure he can find something in Texas. I’m not saying go crazy and drive 6 hours once or twice a month, but these days, there are nice tournaments (and a lot of sleezy ones) all over the country.

Agreed, this is obviously a “let’s see which site is better” tournament, under the auspices of a “friendly” tourney. I can already tell you what the comments will be at the end of this tournament depending on what the outcome is…

B) GameFaqs wins.
SRK says: “its just online. we dont care. Back to practicing for insert epic tourney here” GameFaqs says: “we fucking PWN the interwebs!!!”

If you want to see where you stand with SRK, then do it at a major face to face. Do it at Chinatown Fair or UFO or Arcade Infinity. Do it at Season’s Beatings in Ohio, Northeast Champions in Philly, Final Round in Georgia, Sinsation in VA (is that happening this year?), East Coast Throwdown in the Tristate (venue still pending), Evo in Vegas. Don’t hide behind your routers lol. I’m all for hype tournaments, but by coming over here and challenging SRK’s best to online matches, you’re basically shooting in the dark. Nothing is going to come of it unless it’s face to face. That’s how our community works, period.

Online play isn’t the best for SF4, but we are both playing on it. If i beat your ass online, chances are it’s not gonna be much different offline, and vice-versa (Assuming a decent at least 4 bar connection.)

Not true, i’ve seen people lose to guys doing nothing but j.rh, sweep and random dps. If it was offline, it’d never happen. It’s just a difference in mentalities. You like lag, other people don’t.

Adding to this, match-ups like Rufus vs. Sagat go from 4-6 for Sagat to about 3-7 because you can’t block fireballs on reaction. A lot of Zangief match-ups get better for Gief because you can’t react to ticks on reaction due to lag. So Gief ticks imporve and EX Sonic Booms/EX Tiger Shots get better than they really are.

Hey man, some of us weren’t here for EO. How else am I gonna get the full srk experience? This might be my only shot for petty cross board non-rivalry for a while!
