The best fighting game stages

every stage in a2 is win

i think that it had the best stages in any sf game.

cvss1 stages are cool

GG1 - Grave
GGX - Grove
BBCT - Sheol Gate
Battle Fantasia - Abyss Gate
Cyberbots - Power Station
MvC1 - Striderā€™s Stage

which Vampire game had the one with the side of the building? That shit was wild.

SFIII:Sean, Ryu, Alex, Yang, Dudley.
That Tower stage in if I remember well Darkstalkers 3 and the Subway stage too.
Bishamonā€™s stage in Night Warriors (Darkstalkers 2).
3rd Strike:Makoto, Ryu, Ken, Yun, Akuma.
SFIV:Deserted Temple and Beautiful Bay.
SFA3:Rolento, Cody.
SFA2:Gen.
Samurai Shodown 2: Genjuro and Earthquake.
SSFIV: that new stage in Africa just owns.
CvS2:Aomori, Shanghai and England.

oh man, my favorite stage forever will always be the bar in the middle of nowhere in KOF 96.

Pocket Fighter always makes me laugh.

Iā€™ve always had a soft spot for the Dakar stage in CvS2 with the rally cars jumping overhead.

Iā€™m kinda surprised nobody said Sheep Stage.

Some I enjoy are Moonlit wilderness, Rolentoā€™s elevator in Alpha 2, and almost any stage in CVS1.

I also have to say all the CvS2 stages. thatā€™s one of the main things that drew me in with the gameā€¦just the environment and feel and the music of the stages. love 'em all

The aquarium in King of Fighters 2000.

SS2&3

KOF95&96

SFa2&3

SF3NG

darkstalkers any

LB any

theres a shitload of games with 1 or 2 good bgā€™s, but most of the levels wont be all that. the games i listed are generally ALL THAT.

too bad character and even bg designs gone down the drainer to cater the newer more retarded generation we got nowadays. metro in the west and loli in the east, fuck mayn.

Gills stage in NG is probably best 2D stage Iā€™ve ever seen.

A lot of stages from Samurai Shodown III are also quite nice.

I actually like Jackyā€™s stage in VF5, not sure why no one has mentioned it. Itā€™s wreaks of coolness.

The African stage in SSF4 looks like itā€™s a nice stage at all, but I donā€™t know if that count because the game is no out yet

Tekken 4
Airport
Mall
Mall street
Beach
Statue Room
Temple
Cage Arena

Tekken 6
Fallen Colony (Great visuals and music)
Hidden Retreat- Alisaā€™s Stage (Ditto)
Anger of the Earth- Zafinaā€™s Stage (Ditto but less beautiful)

SSF2 Turbo
Honda Bathhouse (Funny)
Queenā€™s Castle-Cammy (Great music and background)
Las Vegas- Balrog (Purty)
Buddha Statue- Sagat (Purty)

Smash Bros. Brawl
Final Destination (Classic)
Delfino Plaza (Great customizeable music)
Luigiā€™s Mansion (Self explainatory)
Castle Seige (Transitional stages are cool)
Temple (Classic)

SSFIV
Africa

CvS2: All of them, especially Aomori and Barentsburg.
MvC2: Training stage. Itā€™s a classic.
GG: Fiasco, Babylon and May Ship. And Grove. And Crystal City. Andā€¦ fuck every stage in GG was great.
Tekken 4ish: There was one stage with a moonlit plain and there were white flowers all over the place and awesome choral music. It might have been in 5.
Soul Calibur 3?: The windmill stage, I think it was Talimā€™s home. And the ice stage in adventure mode was such a troll.
BB: Oriental Town is awesome. Lots of attention to detail, especially in the CS version.

Overall Iā€™d say my favorite of all time is Babylon, from GG.

Putting aside all questions of BGM:

Street Fighter 4 - Overpass. Fat kid is on POINT. Him and all his little playmates. Love how theyā€™ll cheer even when Bison, the archetypical Japanese kidsā€™-show villain, wins the day.

Street Fighter 4 - Vietnam boat stage. Love the way stuff shakes when you get a hard knockdown (like Chun-Liā€™s sweep), and the way the old man somehow doesnā€™t give a fuck about the crazy flying drug lord flying circles around the gigantic Thai cyclops shooting plasma at him.

Street Fighter 4 - China stage. Thereā€™s a lot of love in this stage, and you gotta love the fat tourist guy falling all over whenever something epic happens on-screen.

Street Fighter 4 - African airfield stage. Love the plane wing + one of the three Shadaloo goons appearing when the plane lands.

KOF '98 - Middle East stage. Not sure where exactly in the Middle East that stage actually is, but I love the pots shaking in the vendor stand in the background. Whenever I think of '98, I think of that stage (or the overpass stage, where your fight is apparently blocking traffic but nobody gives a fuck. Whatā€™s my commute home from my soul-crushing office job compared to watching two flame-slinging high school students duke it out underneath the freeway?).

KOF '98 (Dreamcast revision) - Omega Rugal stage. Metal as FUCK. Love the shark in the background who somehow plans to chow down on the loser. Major bonus points for the Jacuzzi full of human blood. The only thing it lacks is the Guile statue from KOF '94.

Street Fighter 2 (CPS2 revisions) - Guile stage. Breakable boxes, a bunch of bored servicemen/women watching Guile chuck nonstop Sonic Booms, and so much implied masturbation/handjobs. Seriously. Just watch the background charactersā€™ hands sometime. You wonā€™t be able to UNSEE it.

Street Fighter 2 (all revisions) - Vega stage. Thereā€™s just something so wonderfully absurd about a cage fight in what appears to be a theme restaurant. Seriously. Those people are WAY too nicely dressed for the underground bloodsport circuit.

Guilty Gear XX (all revisions) - Johnny/May stage. I really worry about those little skanks playing on the airship engines/ the edges of the wing. Sooner or later thereā€™s going to be an EXTREMELY tragic accident, followed by no end of government inquiry into the exact nature of Johnnyā€™s operation ā€“ unpaid taxes, safety conditions, and of course the nature of his relationship with these decidedly underage girlsā€¦

Guilty Gear XX (all revisions) - Eddie stage (Hell). Metal as FUCK. Truly testament (no pun intended) to how awesome Eddie is.

Tekken 4 - Mall stage. Then again, thereā€™s pretty much no stage in Tekken 4 I didnā€™t like, except maybe the parking garage with all the damn pillars.

Tekken 5 (all revisions) - the garage stage or whatever, with the SUV hoisted in the air and the random black guys in the background. Dancing with style on the razor edge of PCā€¦

Tekken 6 - Fiesta del Tomate. The ONLY thing holding this stage back is the lack of tomato stain decals being applied to characters whenever they hit the ground. Nina smeared with tomato entrails would be hot, and Marduk smeared in deep-red liquid would beā€¦quite scary to imagine, actually.

Tekken 6 - The stage with all the sheep. YODELEHEE YODELEHEE YODELELEHEEHEEEEEEEEEEE

Funny you mentioned about the SHELD helicarrier because I was thinking the same thing if Capcom decided to make a Marvel,I would like to see the new Captain America fighting on that stage. It would be similar to Blackbird stage from X-men vs.Street Fighter(which is another good one)When it gets to the top, youā€™ll have Nick Fury,Steve Rodgers & the Avengers in the background.

Other stages that I have to mention are:All of the Rings Of Destruction BGā€™s especially Scorpionā€™s,Mitsurugiā€™s stage from Soul Calibur 3(THE FUCKINā€™ MUSIC IS GANGSTA!!!)

I canā€™t believe you didnā€™t mention Guileā€™s SFA3 stage the military train convoy

Darkstalkers 3.That stage is called Tower Of Arrogance

I donā€™t even play Tekken but this stage looks hype as hell:
