Those radioshack converters have a lot of input delay, just to warn you.
The new one works fine with ps2 dual shock, but lots of delay and missed inputs for all my hori sticks.
I’m using Kawaks and Kalliera since it’s all that people use around this side of the globe and I always have the whole thing Desych and close after “The waiting for other players” message counts down.
Other times the “waiting for other players” message pops up for a few seconds and then it’s into the game with no hassles. Can anyone explain this problem?
Kawaks has a habit of desyncing very quickly with Neo Geo games, but it shouldn’t be happening that fast. If it’s desyncing ‘immediately’, it could be because one of you got disconnected earlier, and haven’t bothered to leave and rejoin the server.
A similar thing will also happen if your emulator version doesn’t match.
For some reason I can’t play any games on MAME. it keeps on saying that there is an error, Unable to start emulation. Most likely you have a corrupt or missing ROM file. The following files must exist in the specified directory or .zip file.
Does anyone know how I can actually get this working?
Play with same ping and connection setting or with vary similar ping on emulinker servers. This can sometimes help till you reset. And for some games like kof98, you can have one fresh desyncless game just after you restart kawaks before you play any other games.
Try using the rom auditing functionality in mame. If you have the right roms (and the bios: neogeo.zip if they are neogeo roms) and your directory configuration points the the right place then it should work.
Yeah, make sure you have the neo geo BIOS if they’re NG games.
I rom auditing functionality in mame and it listed all my games and it said not found for all of them and I do have the Neo Geo BIOS and not all of them are Neo Geo games.
Make sure you have the parent rom (the biggest file).
For example, for Alpha 3, you’d need 980904.
For ST, you’d need SSF2 first, then ST (World).

It works perfectly with every stick and controller i’ve tried. Minus the SFAC stick anyway. There’s no input delay as far as I can tell.
I have the biggest file for the games and I have the SSF2 rom for ST but it still wont let me play any games. Am I doing something wrong here?
Think its your directory configuration. Make sure your rom directory points to where all the roms are and the roms appear on your “Available” list.
They are all in the roms file and they all appear on my Available list. Its kind of pissing me off that I cant get this shit to work, I read the beginners guid and followed it word for word. Could it be because i’m trying to use the japanese versions for most of the games?

What are the main games that have good online capability on Mame? Games that have descent connections and a good amount of people playing. Ive got a few thousand games on it so feel free to post all you know. I cant believe I just recently realized it had online capabilities =0. Stupid me.
try fighting games…recent ones (5-10 years) that are emulated by mame.
It should say what versions are available. If after saying they are available…they are unplayable then something abnormal is going on there. Hit me up on msn sometime and ill try to help.
