GGS Pauliwood. You’re definitely improving. I would advise you to learn to think more about the footsie game (I have big problems with this too). You want to learn your best (or if it’s too difficult your near-best) non-ultra punishes for certain situations (ie. if you block a flash kick and I have 2 bars, whats the best FADC combo to punish it? What if you only have one bar? etc). Also, mix up Dudley’s overhead in blockstrings and tick throw more often. He can really molest people if he gets in.
Also, I could be wrong, but I don’t think EX Short Swing Blow is very good. I see good Dudleys use their meter way more often on DP, Machinegun and FADC.
Where’s the CS2 hype!? Feels sooo goooood.

This Saturday, I’ll be holding a gathering in celebration of CS2’s release! Anyone from anywhere is welcome to attend, just PM me for info.
I’ve been working a lot the past couple of days so I haven’t had much time to explore CS2. I did get a chance to mess around with Haku in training mode for a bit though. Still haven’t played any matches yet, but here’s some thoughts (first impressions, so these may be inaccurate or change):
Pros:
- His new tools are great. Get ready for 4C whining to come back because it’s going to. Its proration has been greatly improved and 4C > Kishuu (which is faster and cancelable now) is an easy way in.
- ALL of his C (sword) attacks are much faster. 6C seems like a much better option for spacing people. 5C’s proration got buffed; it’s probably his best starter.
- New Yukikaze (no superflash) rocks.
- Gurren has been improved. Plus on block and seems like it has better hitstun (I’m guessing they increased the move’s level).
Cons:
- Overall, his damage has taken a MAJOR hit. Average damage is definitely lower, max damage seems lower too.
- He feels ruined midscreen :wasted: Tsubaki isn’t threatening at all outside of the corner since it groundslides now (wtf). Kind of reminds me of CT Haku: midscreen mixup sucks, so it’s better to corner carry asap, then go for damage.
- Counters getting meter is cool and being able to combo after all of them except JD is nice, but their proration has been (IMO unnecessarily) nerfed. 6D seems harder to utilize; I couldn’t get 6D > Lv3 6C to work and 6D spam against Ada’s punchy super doesn’t work anymore (Carl gets pushed too far back). New JD animation looks retarded
- Renka is disappointing. Doesn’t reverse prorate anymore, still knocks them too far away on 2 hits, has to be canceled into Kishuu after 1 hit to get good stuff most of the time.
?:
- Hotaru changes are odd, really gotta keep an eye out for FC to know if the opponent will cornerbounce or not and adjust followups accordingly. Hotaru > land > IAD J2C combo is HARD, like Guilty Gear hard.
- Corner loops have weird timing, but I imagine they just need some getting used too.
- Mugen has undergone a lot of changes. Seems like the startup is better (feels like it’s faster or the superflash freezes the opponent longer, not sure), but meter drains faster. Sometimes, meter drains REALLY fast, haven’t figured out why yet. I tried messing with it, but couldn’t really come up with anything usable.
- New Renka input is fucking me up almost as bad as the J2C to J2A change from CT to CS, lol.
Been trying to get back into BBCS since the CS2 patch came out but I can already see that I’m still ass at this game…with PSN down, I’m getting rusty in AH3 as well. ~ .~
It’s just one of those times for me.

Overall I’m digging CSII. Although I could complain about a few of the changes, a guard-broken 720 will put a smile on my face any day.
