Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that we are opening up a new game store in North West Alabama, 60 miles north of Huntsville (100 miles from Bham). If you live in the area or nearby and looking for a great place to hang and tear up with friends, we’re your one stop shop! FTW (For the Win) will be running weekly tournaments on Saturday nights that include SSFIV, MvC2, Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, King of Fighters, etc. You name it, we have it!

Here are all the juicy details:

SETUP:
FTW has a PS3 with copies of SSF4, Tekken 6, Blazeblue, KoF13, and MvC2. It’s displayed on a wall mounted 46" JVC HDTV @ 120 Hertz with a Sony 5.1 Surround Sound setup. We also have a PS2 and Wii with a huge assortment of fighting games that runs on a standard 27" screen. We have additional space for more consoles and TVs if people want to bring their owns while waiting on the HDTV room.

FEE:
FTW runs a casual play fee of $8 for the HDTV room, and $5 for the Standard TV. This is per screen, per hour. Not per person!

LOCATION:
FTW
3920 Cloverdale Rd.
Florence, AL 35633

TIME:
Every Saturday from 5:00 PM till 12:00 AM. Though 3 AM is a common event for some of us!

LIVE STREAM:
Right now, we don’t have any Streaming capabilities. If this is a game breaker for you and know how to set it up, let us know! We are open to the idea if we get enough people playing weekly.

BYOC:
Bring your own controller or pad. FTW has extras that they can rent out, but you will feel more at home with your own.

Sona is superior compared to Soraka, for most team compositions (maybe there’s some shit about 3v3 that makes her better).

teemo also has a good nuke that blinds, which can sometimes deal with some auto attack based carries (yi, kog, trist, etc), much like heimer’s skillshot… idk try playing normal to get better at being annoying with him, all i can say is put mushrooms everywhere. teemo can also carry if you rape early game with ap hybrid, like in one game i start the game by owning mid against ashe, by end game, i was putting mushroom in their jungle and base, each dealing over 800 damage over 4 seconds, at some point when i was dead (btw, you gotta know when to run away with teemo, he’s hella squishy) i score a double kill cus two guys fleeting ran into my mushrooms. I was like hell yeah, ballin!

check the teemo guides. also this might sound ridiculous but guides in general, check on youtube. they actually have some info or commentary on general game play you won’t find on leaguecraft (a lot of jungling guides on champions that shouldnt jungle, sigh… or video guides with some guy or girl (weird, there’s actually a decent amount of girls who play this game) owning scrubs and telling other scrubs that they need to buy Brawler’s Gloves first item as garen, ffffffffffffffffffffffffff). but usually normal, even at level 30, is filled with scrubs, you just play any decent carry and you just face roll. if you play the auburn players… well actually, the players i know in real life, they’re all my friends, they’re all pretty fucking bad, either play very unsafe or just plain too agressively, this game is all about risk/reward, from my experience, the safest type of team is a conservative pusher team, while the other team’s risk isnt very high, cus they’re facing a conservative team, their reward is near zero, just keep stacking the chances against them, it’s just how you can win against a premade (this shit doesnt work in normal, cus of scrubs).

also i personally agree with the common ranked ban list. While most of those champions are indeed very face-rolly, there are many other champions, if played correctly, are basically unstoppable, and they arent commonly banned…

also, if you are planning on using low tier champions, here is a quick checklist of things you better not bitch about, because certain champions can auto win games:

1. garen shitting on your face
2. amumu aoe damage plus stun, that you cant avoid.
3. you not able to deal damage to morde, period.
4. galio’s aoe taunt follow by 1/3 of your whole team’s health gone.
5. morg’s aoe stun plus immob plus black shield
6. kennen activate his ult, then uses Zhonya’s Ring
7. Twitch coming outta nowhere and pulls out his dick and sprays everyone.
8. kog taking down your team’s tank in 4 seconds.
9. sivir dealing damage to everyone, fucking everyone!

you might notice that i didnt include many heavy op single target anti-carries like poppy, xin, ww, akali, jax, etc, that is because they may greatly reduce the chance of the opposing team winning, but they dont bring the chance down to basically zero, all of the above, if done correctly with a team with half of a brain, basically guarantee your team winning team fights, which would mean winning the game.

All of those problems have answers in other champions, the main thing is to not be dumb, play with a team of players that know what to do and not let those things above happen in a team fight, either by avoiding them completely or countering them as they’re happening. In normal tho… normal is pretty face-rolly and filled with scrubs, you cant depend on anyone else really except yourself.

I can’t, for the life of me, figure out how to ROM. I’m practicing on Sentinal of all things and I still can’t get the /\ sj. lkmk, addf, sj. lkmk part. I can relaunch, but ROM is better, right?

On the low tier side, I’ve gotten a lot better with my team, now that my Gambit’s improved. My Morrigan still needs a lot of work though.

I very new here… But i live in Tuskegee, Alabama and i want to get into the gamer scene. I have two brothers who love fighting games as well and we all hope to step our game up and make a professional team one day. But right i want to try to meet as many local gamers as i can get some online/ offline experience…Right now i mainly play sstf4, but i do play super smash bros wii.
