Just got done playing Super. Game is amazing.
- Focus attacks don’t suck anymore
- Game feels faster, more fluid
- Abel is shaping up to be a beast. Ultra II (Breathless) is stupidly good for anti-air and a bunch of other shit. Sweep is actually usable. f+MK > s.HP link is easier to hit. c.HP works on more characters due to adjusted hitboxes. lp CoD seems safer (?, may have to test). Falling Sky is now a decent (if albeit situational) anti-air! EX version is even better.
- Makoto is ridiculously fun. I never played her in 3S, so while I’m slightly familiar with her playstyle, she’s a fairly new character to me. She’s got a really fun rushdown game and some of the combos that I discovered with her just by screwing around are insane. Definitely going to sub her if I don’t main her outright.
- Also tried out T.Hawk and Hakan, but I wasn’t really feeling either of them. T.Hawk just doesn’t seem as fun in comparison to the other characters I messed around with, and Hakan is… weird, but interesting. Neither seems like a main for me, probably a 50/50 split between Abel and Makoto now.
- New stages are pretty cool, but I would have liked to see more.
- Character themes have to be unlocked (boo).
- My one major complaint–SSF4 still uses that same retarded button config (scrolling through desired action for each button) rather than what you’d think would be standard by now (pressing desired button for each action). WHY DIDN’T YOU LISTEN, CAPCOM!? I PLAY OUTSIDE LAYOUT AND HAVE TO REDO MY BUTTONS EVERY TIME I’M UP IN THE ROTATION, SO NOW IT’S GOING TO TAKE 10x LONGER THAN IT SHOULD HAVE TO DO MY BUTTONS. YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE A PRESET FOR THE SF4 TE’S OUTSIDE LAYOUT!!! Seriously, it’s really annoying and seems like something that could have been easily fixed.
But yeah, game is awesome. Big thanks to Allen for making it possible. And on that note…
SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 RELEASE GATHERING!!
Allen is letting me borrow his copy of the game today (360 version), so I’m also up for some games at any time today. Also, tonight at midnight, Derrell and I are going to pick up our copies of SSF4 at the Gamestop in McCalla. We’re going to head there at 11pm, hopefully meet/recruit some new people for the local scene, then come back to my house to play some more Super. WHO’S DOWN?

Finals don’t start till next week here, I’m going to be training near exclusively with Team 35630 however. But I will see you at Game Galaxy May 8th.
Finals start next week but all of the material I need to study/prepare for them is being distributed this week so I’m kinda screwed if I miss. Still, I look forward to seeing you and your crew at GG. Maybe we could get some casuals/practice matches in.
