did alright in guilty gear…woulda done better but nobody plays anymore…we got kinda owned in tekken…i dont think zo did too hot in sf4 either, but he aint got no one to play with for real…cuz the other joe don’t play that much and i dont play that game at all…
I’ve always been interested in Guilty Gear, but I can’t find Accent Core anywhere…
What’s Millia Rage like?
Zero_Gamer: Millia’s very combo-heavy, can zone people pretty well with her hair - I don’t know that much about Millia since hardly anyone I know plays her…
If you ever want to get into GGXXAC don’t make the mistake I did and pick Dizzy as your first character. Stick with someone like Sol or Ky - Dizzy isn’t terrible but she’s a lot harder to use than the two main characters.
it’s fun. it’s easier to tell what the fuck is going on if you play it for a day and then everything is visually clear.
it’s not as fun as sc1 but it’s damn fun and it’s a damn good game
Athens GA is doing similar, but with a smaller number of characters. We have already decided though that we are not going to “learn” that character, but the matchup. For instance, if Isaac had problems with Dictator, I wouldn’t learn Dictator all the way, just the Dictator vs Sagat matchup to the point I can compete with him. This way I don’t have to take too much of my time away from my main, whom I will need to learn every matchup with and he is still playing a Dictator who can put up quite a challenge, thus getting that all so important Dic. Yes homo.
In other news, Doren won Melty and I got 4th in same game. Wes and Cordarius did well in BB too (4th and 5th respectively) and both GG and MB teams made 2nd. Airdashes nigga, they the future.
Zero_Gamer: If you’re serious about GG, I’ll help you.
Ill still play GGAC!! all of us were pretty rusty at fr, but since im the best jam alive I got over it pretty quick was still dropping combos though :(. But everybody’s learning melty now even Isaac lmao. You should go ahead and get on it smoov!
Anyone playing SF4 soon? I’m gonna try and hold a few get-togethers this week here in Huntsville, if anyone’s interested. Everyone’s welcome, let’s get something going.
Send a PM or something if interested.
That tournament at Premier Cinemas was pretty awesome.
Ultra finishes in the theaters raped my ears though.
I’ve talked to a lot of people there and there is a lot of interest for my tournament. I’m expecting a good turnout.
Oh, and Nice1 and Dogysamich get free sponsorship for Evo, FR 14 (Been talk of it being in Birmingham, AL), etc. Good stuff, guys.
<.<
I wanna learn GG
adds to list of games
Anyone wanna play today?
What I meant was, anyone wanna gather up on Friday?
zero gamer came by saturday to hollla at u guys to play some games, but u were gone. i’ll come this weekend.
What time did it take place? I was told 10p-10a, but it seems that fell through…
Any big names, footage or other media coverage, etc?
Tournament started at around 11PM and ended at 5AM. They tournament had a rough start because, apparently, they intended to have only stock characters allowed in SF IV, but luckily I brought my hard drive just in case and things went along fine. Aside from that little bit, the hosts were totally legit.
There were a couple of interviews going on, but because of the poor advertising on SRK and Smashboards, the attendance wasn’t much.
About 20-ish people entered Super Smash Bros. Melee and 5 people entered Street Fighter IV.
The only big name player was Dogysamich, but I assume he’s only well known in the Smash community, although his Sakura is a beast.
Also, the theater screen was laggy.
Alright, brah.
Everyone else should come by too for some fun before my tournament.
This is poor timing as it forces ppl who are normally accustomed to sleeping a certain way to either do it backwards or grind it out for almost 24 hrs or consciousness.
Console characters (and Gouki) have been tournament standard for over a year. This tourney appears to have been held by people who do not even like the game.
Low turn-out = Low pay-out. Free or not. And for people who have things to do on Sunday (yours truly) it’s hella inconvenient.
I’d say the best thing was the location (i.e. close to us). Something tells me they couldn’t get full access to the theatre during daylight hours so they took the next best thing. And as always with compromise, no one ever wins.
We’re gonna have to get you outta town one of these weekends and let you see the world cuz that is not awesome.
I just remembered, and I gotta give credit where it’s due, Red Zo was legitimately doing this for a while with like 5 or 6 characters (in addition to the two he already played) when he was really hardcore on sf4. This went on for a while only to end when he got married to Blazblue, which he broke up with when Tekken came out. I honestly think if ppl went somewhere (like to somebody’s house) and there were multiple setups we could find it much easier to make time for multiple games. The scene has a fairly bad habit of dropping everything the instant something new and shiny comes out. I spent a lot of time trying to rebuild interest in SF4 (all while unsuccessfully trying to convince ppl to play KOFXII, lol) to very little effect.
There’s not a whole lot I haven’t already tried. Traveling to ppl’s houses in someone else’s car, letting 'em come to mine I don’t know what some of you guys want, man.
By awesome, I meant it was fun, which it was, but yeah, I see your point; the tournament itself was pretty bad.
Dude, real talk, I see no point in plain dropping SF IV and BB: CT or any game just because the sequels are coming soon. You’re still practicing fundamentals and you’re still having fun (unless you’re one of those guys who hated SF IV and thinks Super will bring love). I’m still interested in T6, BB, SF IV, Smash, Arcana Heart, etc, but atm, this community is so unpredictable. I still want to play the games, I just feel disheartened that everyone’s going, “Herpa derp, I don’t wanna play anything until July,” or something.
As for rebuilding interest in SF IV, I’ve talked to like, 3 people at Sticksgaming who were planning on entering my tournament and are going to be a part of SRK eventually and I’ve been advertising all around my college campus and apartments for a couple of others. I’m sorry if I sound like a broken record, constantly advertising my tournament, but I never can get an accurate expected turnout because none of you ever say whether or not you’re showing up.
Also, you up for playing on Friday, Lemarr(sp?)?

So I’m crashing Zero’s tournament this weekend (once again). I’ll bring a setup for anything on deck. Who’s going?
