The attitudes of gamers outside of America/Japan, towards US gamers

U’re talking about people from the south of Italy, yes they’re damn lazy fuckers, they never pay taxes, they mess around all days, they’re a bunch of useless scums/criminal/bastards, they’re killing the country stealing resources from the north little by little. Thank god i’m not one of them.

m1x4h that’s terrible, that arcade in Milan is the last spot with cabinet in the entire city and it’s full of idiots and kids so don’t let this shit get to you, last time i dropped by i saw a bunch of people but they were all immigrants, not even an italian! Actually they’re probably too dumb to know what racism/hating is so they were just mad at u cuz u kicked their ass and get their money

thanks. lol… you took the words out of my mouth

it’s the one by that restaurant “pizzarito” right? I was at the presdent hotel, and i saw it on my way there, so i walked down later that day.

They’re just scrubs. Whatever. But I don’t like America via politics, so whenever I travel out of country I just say I’m Canadian. Hah.

Yeah, there are actual travel agencies that give you canadian flags to stitch into your bags, depending on where you go. I found that amusing. Of course, if I ever went overseas, I’d get one, lol. I’m not a jerk, so don’t worry Canada I’d be a nice imposter!

Fuck that. I’m proud to be an American. Shame on anyone that pretends to be Canadian when abroad. That’s like bangin fat chicks all day and night until your boys find out and rag on your for it. Don’t be embarrassed to be who you are. If you’re afraid to get your ass shot off by some dude, then stay here. Anti-Americanism is just player hating on a global scale. Instead of getting of their asses and demanding reform, the rest of the world just points their finger toward us and says that we’re bad because we have it better than them. I noticed that people around the world are generally xenophobic and just hate that people are there to steal their jobs/women/land/etc.

the reason they talk shit, I think is because you beat them up miserably.

Italians are such a sore losers everybody knows that

This whole thread is disappointing. Especially comments like that.

Don’t take this sort of shit personally. There’s no point. Obviously m1x4h beat those guys fair and square, and they took it personally. All they can offer in retaliation is to insult your homeland/mother/weight/eye-colour/whatever. I’ve seen the same thing a thousand times over in other games, sport, pubs, etc worldwide.

I’m going to piss some people off by saying this: but generally speaking Americans get a bad rep worldwide. And no, it’s not people like you lot who build that bad reputation. It’s not guys like you who play a fair game and accept a challenge from anyone. It’s not guys like you who don’t care if your asian, african, caucasian or whatever. It’s not guys like you who can play a game fair and GG your opponent win or lose.

It’s loud, annoying, arrogant and generally stupid tourists. It’s bad news reports that make it into international media about the latest US shooting, obesity rates, crime rates, unemployment rates, etc, etc.

And it’s not limited to America. Aussies get a reputation in the UK of being sarcastic, loud, piss-head boozers who spend all day in pubs wasting their daddy’s money on beer. Why? Because of the few 20-something year old Aussie backpacker in the UK who do just that. Sure there are plenty of quiet hard working Aussies in the UK, but they don’t draw attention to themselves, and therefor don’t get stereotyped.

It’s always the arseholes who ruin it for the rest of us. American, Australia, Italian… who cares. There’s always some stupid tit who acts like a tool and lets the rest of the world think that’s how we all act.

The point is: don’t take it personally, and don’t retaliate. So some Italian kid was a scrub and insulted you… who cares? Not all Italian kids are the same. I bet I could find another 100 3S players in Italy who are the nicest blokes you could ever have a game against, and another 100 who are right shits. I could find 100 folks anywhere in the world to represent both camps (except maybe Australia - I don’t think we even have 100 3S players :frowning: ).

Don’t take it personally. Shrug it off, and find better opponents. The world is full of dickheads and nice folk. Ignore the dickheads, and challenge more nice folks.

I was playing MSH back when I was a total scrub at games in Mexico (but was decent in MSH) and was going through the game singleplayer with Wolverine. I continued after the CPU pulled some crazy shit on me and he kept bitching at how it was “his turn” next to play (obv another scrub). After I did it a second time he mashed out my continue when I went to play and I was like, WTF? Played against him after that and wrecked his ass with Spiderman and told him to GTFO my arcade.

well said!

I cant speak for the FGC. But in the PC scene i spent a month in Korea bootcamping for wcg and they had mad respect for the US gaming scene. A couple of swedish CS players i know thank the us for making the e-sports scene as big as it is now. The Frag was the first international fps tourney in the quake1 days hosting ppl from more than 20 countries. Those 2 guys that ran that tourney now run CPL. I think most people respect american gamers. In the end its all about the game and the players. Thats what really matters.

Wow seriously dude get a brain. My point was that while in some areas it’s alright to just challenge some random dude out of the blue, it’s not the same in all areas. The TC assumed it was, acting like some self centered fuck. And you come along with the same kind of attitude.

Also, learn to read shit head, because I said it was common courtesy, I never said it was the standard or the norm. But I guess shit heads have no manners, so why am I wasting time with you?

And you know what this thread fucking sucks donkey balls. You beat a bunch of sore losers and they made fun of your home country. So what? Why come here and bitch and moan about it? What will that solve exactly? Do you need the approval of others to justify your feelings of self worth or something? Just fucking retarded.

“its not the same in all areas”

of course it isnt

“the tc assumed it was acting like some self centered fuck. and you came along with the same kind of attitude”

i cant speak for the tc, but for my attitude, i was simply echoing you. you’re guilty of the same thing you’re accusing us of.

“because i said it was common courtesy, i never said it was the standard or norm.”

you just contradicted yourself in one sentence. COMMON COURESTY means it applys to everyone, then you say you never said it was the standard or norm. but you just said it was common courtesy.

“but i guess shit heads have no manners”

your argument sucks so you hafta get to personal attacks now? guess what, the manners here in california are to not ask if you can play. i’ve NEVER been beaten in my life by anyone thats asked if they can play. NEVER. that should show you around here, those guys suck. i was playing in the arcades in the xvsf days and i was 10 years old. even then i could understand that no one asked to play, but you just played. who has less manners? the guy making 8+ people wait for a game of xvsf while hes playing the cpu or the guy that kicks his ass off the machine? its horrible manners to say NO YOU CANT I WANT TO HOG THIS PUBLIC MACHINE TO MYSELF.

stop judging us by the rules of your bubble.

mixah acted like an american would act in america. that german was outta line. when your in rome, you DO AS THE ROMANS.

i think the real question is: did you fuck some bitches over there?

Same here. If you’re on a machine solo and someone puts their coin in, it’s fair game. Winner stays, loser pays.

Yups, I agree. Not everybody goes into an arcade for challenges. I think its best to use a form of etiquette and atleast ask if it’s okay to join up before you sit down and insert your money, wherever you are. Everyone is different afterall, for example some people might be in there trying to wind down during their workbreak and not be used to playing competitively against strangers. At the end of the day if you are courteous towards someone and they dont respond the same way, theyre more than likely an a-hole. And as Elvis said in his post, for every good guy there will be the complete opposite. That goes for any city in the world.

You should headbutt them

so I kinda skimmed this thread. Here’s my story.

I’m in switzerland for a coop job this summer. There’s only two shitty arcades in Zurich. I join tekken.ch asking for comp. I hook up with a couple guys. They play a lot of tekken (obviously) I play a lot of KOF and SF. They’re game for Tekken. I’m like cool. Play a game I suck at it or no game at all. Dissapointed that I’m an oriental canadian who can’t play tekken for shit (they were expecting to get brutalized evo 2k2 style) they teach me how to play tekken. I in turn show them how bad they suck at cvs2, kof and SF and we get good games teaching each other.

Maybe it’s cause I’m canadian. Who knows though?

QFT

Stop the random hate, i also get trashtalked when i’m in a foreign nation but who gives a fuck? lol if i had to open a thread for everytime i got hated srk.com will be down for the next 2billions years. Seriously.

and as i said

nobody in chinatown asks. so the idea of “arcade etiquette” is rediculous to me.

@LEVA: I replied to your post earlier… about the arcade in question…
