imo A-Sak isn’t useless without RC. She’s good with or without RC, RC isn’t really a requirement to win, i hear a top player in Japan does not RC.

side note: Guile get’s beaten badly by sakura, i think her dive kicks beat most his AAs or trades if lucky.

I do feel the learning curve of sakura is really steep…
I have been using her for a long time… i still suck with her…
I watched many of bas’s games, he did a lot of RC with sak…
So if anyone has the video of the guy that doesn’t RC with sak, let me know…

Just why in the hell would you NOT RC with Sak…? She has 2 of the best RC’s in the game. Also Japan is Japan, you can’t compare a cvs2 scrub’s non RCing A Sak to some Expert Japanese player’s. Also RC Flash Kicks beat Dive Kicks (duh).

agreed. but what i’m saying is that Sak is good without RC but she’s even better with RC.

i use runaway rolento. does pretty well vs her.

Sakura has a problem dealing with low jumps, straight up and down jumps (which kill random RCs from Sak) and has a hard time catching runaway characters.

yea… shoto strategy is basically what buk said… jump up and down do alot of straight jump RH… tigerknee backward and forward hurricane kicks… and throw sum rc FBs here and there when you feel a roundhouse coming up. Also with Ryu… just slightly inside to outside of st RH range… if they get predictable… stick out a cr MK, and you should get a CH (if they hit RH) and combo into his super… the only downside to this is… if they are quick with their footsies… they will cr RH your whiffed cr MK if they out of st RH range. Ken can RC wacky Kick alot vs her in her RH range. Again jump straight up and down RH is your friend vs rc HK… and her rc FB can be beat with RC overhead kick with ken… or RC hurricane kick with Akuma/Ryu (ken’s HK sucks a big fat cock it hits at that range where it will hit once and miss the rest). Ken’s flip kick may trade with Sakura… but it also get you a knockdown on her and does more damage and stun. Jump straight up RH… is also good against her gay jump early RH… which is often used to stuff antiair options. I think Ken’s RC funky Kick and RHs and high stun combos and give him the advantage in this matchup compared to Ryu and Akuma (they all still get raped by this whore).

KKKing everything with Maki is not a viable strat… all Sak has to do is bait 1 and its CC time!

On A sakura go to training mode pick A sak as your dummy. You have to practice Jd/super… cc activation. I would if I played k seriously. I got a friend that practice’s it all the time. He actually has success with it.

Ive seen small jump used to bait sakura cc. Small jump… Just defend ,down back when you land… to tiger uppercut. Trip guard with a sakura is way too good. That how my friend Joe baits “a sak”.

You can’t JD then punish Sakura CC if she does CC, go straight into DP’s or CC, d.MK…

If I’m playing A-Sak, I won’t get close and just activate in your face like that anyway.

Yea, it definately freezes them from doing DPs, but it doesnt give you any advantage or disadvantage (as you are both sort of in stun) , its just that if they do a DP immediately after they can easily be punished as her Fierce DP has like a million frames start up.

EDIT: How does d.mk prevent them from punishing? Do you recover faster than they do if it is JDd?

I know JD can screw up your opponents timing concerning normals… which might leave a hole in your CC.

But technically, since you can cancel into anything you should be able to cover up that hole right?

ANother thing I’ve wondered about JDing that CC. Is there a gap in between the DPs? I’ve JDed 3 hit DP, then held forward on the stick… i get hit by the next DP. Doesn’t that mean there’s a hole? I know it’s not really practical because they can change the # of hits, but i’m just wondering if there’s a gap.

I JDed one DP sequence, then held forward. I didn’t block, instead i got hit… therefore, gap. right? :slight_smile:

I tried it in training afterward, same deal… after 1 DP, after 2, etc. I couldn’t JD 6 DPs and try it though… I’m no JD god.

This was the long DP type-of CC. Lotsa hits with each DP.
