Bourdain’s books are good too. Kitchen Confidential is one of the funniest books out there, period, don’t argue with fact.
Zimmern is kind of a dick? I mean think about it. He goes around to different places, takes the stuff people out there eat everyday without thinking and then turns around sneering into the camera talking about how nasty and weird it is. That’s just dickish behaviour. The only time I haven’t been offended by him is on his trip to Sardinia where he thankfully gave all that a rest.
Imagine if some foreign guy came to your country, held up a hotdog or something and started speedchatting shit into the camera about how nasty and weird all your food is, it’d be outrageous.
I remember one ep where he was getting an oil massage while sitting in a chair…and the chair broke. It just fuckin’ gave up. I said out loud “Well, it had to happen sometime…”
i don’t know what the hell you’re watching but the point of the show isn’t to eat the most ridiculous thing they can find and Anthony Bourdain has way more personality Zimmern. Watching Zimmern trying to interact with people is terrible.
and the scene where Bourdain eats a raw seal on a kitchen floor with an Inuit family is far more savage than anything I’ve seen on Zimmern’s show [media=youtube]8d8EymQPiqk[/media]

Not true. Bourdain has said on record his favorite food are Asian. That why most of his eps are in Asia. You notice he has like 1 show per location but Asian countries he has like 2-4 shows because he just keeps coming back.
Zimmerman is just crazy that dude really does eat anything. Bourdain more of my style, Zimmerman is more for the :wow: factor.
yeah, through out the whole Vietnam episode has was talking about how much he wanted to retire there, it was like the only thing he talked about the whole episode. 
and I think his favorite food is snail. it doesn’t matter where he is he always manages to find some snail to eat.
also I forgot that Bourdain ate the beating heart of a Cobra. You see raw seal, beating hearts of a cobra, when Anthony Bourdain does crazy eating he does it like a man. Zimmern, on the other hand, is like that kid in kindergarten that ate dirt, bugs and his own feces.
I used to hate Bourdain because at first glance he seems to be a pretentious prick. While I don’t have anything else to base this on other than watching his show, I think he’s awesome now! Yeah, he pretty much tells it how it is, though I do wonder what he’s like in real life quite a bit.
And I love Zimmerman as well. He is about a whole lot more than eating weird/nasty food. He actually says quite a bit that he thinks one of the best ways to explore a culture is through its food. He makes often shows that on show show.
Zimmerman never ate a shit encrusted warthog anus. He also had to have the Vietnamese chef at the restaurant cut out the snake heart for him and then he dipped in sauce. Bourdain pried out a python (or was it a king cobra?) heart with his bare hands in some tribal highland village and scarfed it down with relish.
Yeah Bourdain is a pretentious asshole but he has no shame in being a pretentious asshole and his opinions are usually correct. Vegans = Hezbollah? Fuck yeah. Those dudes are evil. Bourdain would gladly butcher and eat a still-living koala or something in front of PETA.
His restaurant is also not too shabby.
