"The answer lies in the heart of battle." Ryu Video Thread

When I got caught for the nth time with that setup, I remembered your critique and felt >:( that I was even told about the bad habit but still fell for it. Its hard to erase bad habits.

Lolvyeah but thx for the props. Was really nice from you ggs!

Any other source of better quality of the daigo exhibition?

There is no better quality. It was official stream. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/17370806 :frowning:

**Ryu Fuerte combo! I made this today. Enjoy
**

I found that st.MP dash throu against Fuerte and other characters back in vanilla, no one listened, and now its the cool thing to do…whatever, nontheless nice combo.
In a real match I’d try to go for a reset with solar plexus for more damage(or other good normal), because if you choose to do the sweep then what’s the point for that combo other than it looks cool and burns 2 ex bars, and like you showed the safe jump afterwards can be punished.

For people who have not seen my link to my youtube channel before, here it is, its only ryu matches of top players, I ulpoad videos frequently

 • You have to improve your positioning/spacing. Don’t corner yourself without getting even pressured.

 • Jump less. (again positioning)

 • You can sweep Seth limbs just like you can do that with Dhalsim, so look for that when you are full screen distance from your opponent.

 • Don’t lose corner advantage.

not that bad overall.

I can’t believe you’re ranked 5th. You are like an amateur.
C.Viper match - why in the hell are you jumping like a frog? you are NOT accomplishing absolutely anything in the match. You put yourself in the corner and in a vulnerable position each time you jump. Infact you got owned.

Ibuki match - same. You have no good blockstrings that might give you the chance later on for counter hit setups or shoryu frame trap to land Metsu Hadoken. Positioning and poking need to be improved.

overall you need to understand your character and the match ups you’re playing.

Thanks, I subbed just now.

Please read that.

For the record, that Ryu isn’t me. It’s sekiganryu, aka. Akame Ryu, the #1 BP Ryu in Japanese arcades, #20 overall BP player. Ultimate Master ranked Ryu in Japan… on the very short list for best Ryu in the world.

Is he perfect? Nope… none of us are… but you’d do well to watch matches with the goal of learning, rather than the goal of critiquing, so you can feel like an expert. There is plenty to pick out, and plenty to try to understand. Looking for obvious mistakes is the easiest thing you can do, and it’s kind of a waste of time.

laugh all you want…and WASTE OF TIME??? people post their matches here mostly for improvment. even if those tips are not of any help to him, sure can help someone that is trying to learn to see the match from a different prospective.

have a nice day.

p.s. BP points mean shit to me.

It’s a waste of your time to come in here, critiquing matches that nobody asked you to. You wind up watching the matches, from an expert position, instead of from the position of somebody looking to learn, and you most likely wind up missing what there is to learn in the videos.

Anyone can sit back and point out a missed combo, or a missing tactic. It’s easy as hell, and it’s completely pointless.

I was gonna say, GamesPlayer - its fine to critique and all, but present more constructive criticism. If that was me playing in those vids and I read your comments, I’d feel slightly hurt. The word “amateur” can sting for some. Be lighter with your comments, you’ll accomplish alot more.

The funny thing is that it’s not even HAV’s ryu and he’s giving critique to someone that will never read the post.

This Ryu is far from being an amateur, hes doing some high level things
