A remix of the 1st episode, with some new events and a bizarre and constant change of outfits. Pretty weird compared to the other episodes of the series, but had it’s moments, especially when Kaya remembered how the whole situation happened before and declared her revenge against Hajime, only to do almost the exact same cherry as he did. :lol:
The extra DVD episode (mentioned as episode “EX”) for Hidamari Sketch x 365 was as usual, a subtle delight to watch.

There was no actual necessity to the plot to have Nia die. For all the symbolism and build up they had, and the logic that was established in the series, Nia just fading away conviently after saying their vows was pure bullshit. She didn’t sacrifice herself, she didn’t push herself, she was nothing more then a giant, cliche plot device in the second half of the series, and very little anything else.
Given the logic we’re told in the movie (with how the Image can alter subatomic particles, and what Eureka’s role is amongst them) the ending makes perfect sense. It was an act of sacrifice for the one she loved, and yes it left her with little scatterings of memories of Renton, but given that things end up with him smiling, them still together, instead of him walking around aimlessly like a fucking moron, well yeah, this film is infinitely better in comparison.[/details]
Also, I’m the biggest god damn Eureka 7 fanboy on this site.

I don’t know, I just got sick of the boring economics, especially when there would be some long talk about trading values. I might give Spice 2 a shot if it’s more like the OVA and episode 7.

What a waste. It was EXACTLY like the third episode with very minor changes. If seeing Haruhi in a different bikini is worth a download, go for it. Heck, it felt like they even dropped their budget for this episode. There were several times when in episode 3, they showed the characters, you know moving. In episode 4, there would be frequent background shots while the characters talked off-screen.
Don’t bother downloading Haruhi #14.

And in fact, they start bitching out while fighting the AS for that very reason. Which prompts Nia to pull a “Get off your asses and kill this motherfucker, or you’re all bitch-made and the universe is screwed”.
And when they say “But you’ll die” she says “Who the fuck do you think I am, I’m the Spiral Princess, Nia Teppelin!!!” in a way that would make Kamina proud. She knows what has to be done even if she has to go down for it. So yeah, she does make a sacrifice and looks damn cool doing it.[/details]

And sadly enough, Samura’s initial reticence about making BotI an anime was pretty well-founded. The anime by Bee-Train (or whatever that production company’s called) was so flat-out atrocious that I couldn’t even finish the first episode. Choppy animation, tons of static scenes, an almost monochromatic color palette. . .I had more fun watching K-ON than BotI. And I hate K-ON.
Lagann-Hen needs to hurry the fuck up and hit DVD. The first movie was meh but this second ones supposed to be straight fucking fire.

But yes, DMC is awesome. Krauser II’s antics are surreal and hilarity inducing at the same time, like any good death metal band leader - and how Negishi is always conflicted between his regular and DMC persona is priceless.
I don’t think I’ll ever forget that bit with the Tokyo Tower.
