oh hell no, the movie was fuckin pretty, the music was amazing, the story was way inferior.

you think so? hmm…may have to re-up on the anime and movie…its been a while.

Show was great the movie…went the other. Did it have a ending?

rip slockhart916

u will be missed (probably)

Oh shizz!! I fucked up, lol. I do know that Jin-Roh had an opening song, and it was sick. I’ll find it and edit the link.

Slam Dunk and Nadesico have pretty baller intro songs.

Gainax says hi

Dog Days comes out next season (Yes, its by the same staff that did Nanoha)

So I found the I was talking about.

I also found out that it’s the ending song. I’m retarded. :coffee:

I’m mad I didn’t recognize the Gasaraki intro. Then again, I haven’t seen it in like 6 years.

Might do a longer list for older anime endings. There are some pretty neat stuff out there.

Watching that haunting Kikaider intro reminded me that I never finished the series. I know it ends on a bad/depressing note, and I know exactly what happens, but I still wanna see it.

Speaking of anime with fucked up endings, which one takes the cake? Saikano? Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien? Grave of the Fireflies? End of Evangelion? Air? School Days?

It’s a toss up between Air and Grave of the Fireflies for me. Air was just really, really fucked up. Felt like absolute shit for a while after watching it. Grave of the Fireflies left me feeling empty and lost for a looooooong while. I haven’t seen either in like 6 years, so rewatching them might change my opinion a bit, but as it stands now, those two take the cake for me.

^ I’ll 2nd Air and Grave if by fucked up, you’re going for that BAW factor.
Air was the first show to break me down and cry like a little bitch T_T Grave fucked me up good but not to the point that Air managed to lol

Saikano i havn’t seen yet but i hear it’s pretty similar to Hantsuki and Iriya no Sora and those were bittersweet than anything imo. Both only 6 eps each and highly recommended if you enjoy that shit, but i know it’s not everyones cuppa tea so yea.

EoE doesn’t even compete unless you literally take the meaning of fucked up, since well everything is pretty much fucked by the end lol. I’d put Elfen Lied in both this and the BAW category too (and maybe to a lesser extent, Ga Rei Zero).

KgnE i can’t even remember how it ended because I detested all the melodrama in it. School Days however is in a league of it’s own for fucked up endings and is probably my favourite out of the bunch :looney:

lol magical dog-girls, this should be interesting.

I haven’t seen grave, eva, air, or school days, though I know what happens in all of them.

Still of any sad ending, Saikano has to take the cake, it isn’t bittersweet at all, it’s just fucking depressing, dark, and utterly WITHOUT HOPE. It is just a bottomless pit of despair and anguish.

Oooooh shiiiiiiit! They team up with S&K?! SWEEEEEEEET!

Big-O had a big wtf final ep ending. I cried like a bitch at the end of Graves after the firest viewing. Luckily it doesn’t happen whenever I watch it again.

Anyone watched Rin: Daughters of Mnemosyne (Just Mnemosyne in Japan)?

I just started it and though weird (which is what I want anyway) and though the only review I found of it just trashes it, I thought it was pretty good.

Just finished up Trigun the series.

It wasn’t bad… really cool characters, Vash was a great protagonist, Nicholas D. Wolfwood was an epic badass, and I actually quite liked Milly & Meryl. I was rooting for Meryl & Vash the whole time. Thought the ending was kind of lackluster though… after

Trigun last 3-4 episodes

Spoiler

Legato forces Vash to kill him, I think things didn’t turn out as epic as they could have. I thought Vash’s character development after that was pretty contrived. The final confrontation was disappointing to me… I mean, the last episode wasn’t even epic enough to warrant a special opening credits? I do like how the Vash-Meryl romance played out… wonder if he feels the same as she does?

Is the manga better? How about the movie?

Saikano.

Man, going through all those OP & ED’s was such a nostalgia trip. I can’t imagine how long it would take to post up every good OP & ED theme here.

Yes, final episode was very anti-climatic and the ending was rather lack luster.

Movie timeline

Spoiler

The movie is good but it doesn’t take place after the tv series. It’s like a one off movie somewhere in the middle of the timeline where Wolfwood is still alive. Does nothing to develop the existing cast and just shows more about Vash’s non-killing oath. The focus of the movie is more about the new characters introduced just for the movie.

Make sure you pick up the uncut japanese version.

I love Mnemosyne, Rin is one of my fav female protaganists. It’s painful watching her go through all the shit she does.

Manga is better, much more fleshed out, and is totally fucking amazing. I actually did like the TV series too though.

Movie doesn’t take place in any continuity

I’ve seen Mnemosyne, I liked it a lot. Nice OP too if I remember correctly.

heh, your avatar is a bit of a tell on how that might be the case.

The Trigun movie was pretty fun and made me want an anime adaptation of Trigun Maximum even more. Alongside that Tsuneo Imahori soundtrack.

I guess it was to be expected with how things turned out in the P&S finale.

The last few minutes of Madoka ep.1 were rather…trippy. :looney: It’s got potential though and Yuki Kajiura’s music does not disappoint as usual.

grave of the fireflies made me feel all :frowning: after watching. like an overwhelming feeling of GOD THAT SUCKS (the events, not the movie overall).

school days…well this is what my friend had to say about it. cant find the original irc log so paraphrasing:

“i got a girl to watch school days once”
“shes liking it a lot until we get to the ending”
“i am literally on my feet clapping at the tv…she is sitting there in shock”
“we dont talk anymore”

tbh my own reaction was a lot closer to the clapping than shock.
