the nexus phones are cheaper because they’re usually underspec’d compared to the galaxy s phones or whatever high end htc phones are out. their selling point is vanilla android and the promise of faster updates. i always thought “argument” was dumb because android phones are meant to be rooted and flashed with new roms so the idea of faster updates is moot with how fast new roms come out.
there’s a rumor that the nexus 5 will have the snapdragon800 though which is the fastest chip out right now. so if it does have the 800 and can keep the cheap pricing that will be HUGE.
Love my Nexus 4. No complaints.
Microsoft should buy Blackberry. It’s not commercially popular anymore, but MS would corner the enterprise market… and at this point that’s the last piece of the mobile pie that’s still up for grabs.
Off Topic I know. Trying to buy a GS4 4G this month.
Samsung event is at 10am Pacific time. Sony is at 8 (or 7…I forget). This is pretty much it for phones for the rest of the year. Still hoping Samsung wows me somehow but I’m ready to be disappointed.

Not sold on the Samsung Gear watch/interface peripheral but it did have some very cool features, I would need to play with it.
Why even care? They’re just gong to come out with something supposedly better so they can rip you off again with a product that is marginally better or maybe even worse. You don’t need phones like these. Shit, I still have a older model flip phone and that’s more than good enough for my needs.
