there’s a difference between federal freeway and state freeway. Then there’s an even larger difference between state projects and city projects.
City projects being the slowest jobs and the most expensive ones. Federal jobs tend to go by faster. Caltrans just got finished with the new intersection between the 91 (state freeway) and the 15 (interstate) in about a year, while adding about 3 lanes per section. Meanwhile, in long beach, it took them about a year to do half a mile of street in which they only dug about 6 inches.
Local construction projects are milked heavily due to it being all union and all state workers with little to no private contractors being used becasue of the unions.

I’m very interested in seeing how President Trump will “build a wall” that’s structurally sound to withstand earthquakes and other natural disasters. We already walls, barriers, and fences in place at the border. We’re currently using drone technology at the border. What else can be done to make sure the border(s) are 100% safe? Will this wall end up being government waste in the long-run?
Sure the border patrol and other immigration agencies may be understaffed but how many people are willing to work in those positions for a long time? Will that line of work be given to the private sector? They better have good pay and enough resources to make sure the border is safe. I’m guessing a lot of funding from other parts of the executive branch will be taken away for what I consider a “legacy project” for the Trump administration.
