The Associated Press reported that the foundation paid one of Donald Trump’s private golf clubs for services related to fundraising events but Eric told DailyMail.com that it all consisted of ‘direct reimbursements’ for event expenses
The younger Trump is trying to avoid accusations that charitable contributions could be perceived as a means to buy access to the White House

Donald Trump complained bitterly on Friday about conflict-of-interest rules that led his son to say he’ll stop raising money for a renowned children’s medical charity while the billionaire is president.

‘My wonderful son, Eric, will no longer be allowed to raise money for children with cancer because of a possible conflict of interest with my presidency,’ the president-elect wrote in a pair of tweets.

‘Isn’t this a ridiculous shame? He loves these kids, has raised millions of dollars for them, and now must stop. Wrong answer!’

The younger Trump is trying to avoid accusations that charitable contributions could be perceived as a means to buy access to the White House.

The Eric Trump Foundation has raised $15 million for the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee – including enough money over the last decade to fund a new intensive care unit.

About $7.9 million of that consisted of grants from the foundation. The balance, Eric Trump told DailyMail.com on Friday, was paid directly to St. Jude’s by participants in Trump-organized fundraisers.

‘We do a major golf outing in Washington, D.C.,’ he explained, citing one example. ‘I don’t have staff members in Washington, so I call up St. Jude’s and they’ll collect the money down there.’

St. Jude’s provides free medical care for children, including many who are terminally ill.

‘No new money will come into the ETF [Eric Trump Foudation] bank account,’ the 32-year-old wrote Wednesday in an email to The Washington Post.

The Post asked why Eric didn’t instead step away from the foundation and allow it to continue without him.

‘Maybe that’s an option, but not one I have thought much about,’ he replied. ‘I will however think about your suggestion.’

Now these here grinches. I’m not gonna call names because they didn’t mention any in the article. Still, who would want somebody to stop collecting money on behalf of a charity…because his dad is the president? :bluu:

Eric could easily release documents that track where the money is going and wehre its coming from. There can be no conflict of intrest if there’s a trail that you are putting there so everybody can see

Trump on the other hand will probably destroy our economy, climate, education, and jobs. Can’t believe he appointed an anti-climate person to the climate lead department. Our public education is screwed when now is the time we need more money in the public education system. He lied his way to the presidency and back-track most of his promises.

He has hardly any plans or policies. His website plans are mostly lies to get him elected. We probably get the tax plan but that about it. There will be no wall or any of his other lies. Drain the swamp? His cabinets is almost complete and mostly billionaires and part of the swamp he wants to drain. He is just changing the alligators. He doesn’t even read intelligence briefings or hardly reads at all.

This is going to be a rough 4 years for Americans. I am hoping the GOP has some sense block some of Trump’s proposals. Also I am pretty sure he going to start a trade war with China. He is a big supporter of Putin and wants to remove sanctions after Russia hacks us in are election. It is like a reward. As to why he hired the SoS who has more than 10 years exp. in Russia.

Putin and Russia have to be very happy about this. They can abuse Trump and gain alot of advantages from him. Worked out perfectly for them. Putin is quite cunning. I admit it. They hacked our election and about to receive some rewards. He has even sent him a letter to seduce him to being an ally even though our government has recently added even more sanctions.

The Russian people know exactly what is going on and are calling Americans dumbasses they can take advantage of. Since Trump has no political experience so he will bend to them to get foreign policy popularity. World leaders can abuse him and get exactly what they need.

He needs to be able to stand up between what is right and wrong for America. Not go with anything against Obama. I hate him to all hell but I do want him to be successfully for the American people’s sake. Also don’t fall for the Putin trap.

Anyway the economy has been set up to fail for a long time and if it does falter it won’t be because of Trump. Its already been set up to fail for years.
Right now we are in a boom as far as peoples outlook on the economy. Matter of fact, Trump will probably have an amazing 4 years and then get re-elected to a 2nd term, then thats when the powers that be will pull the rug out from under him and blame everything on him.
I have a bad feeling about the 2020’s though… the 1900’s had the roaring 20’s then things went bust and WWII jumped off.
I really don’t like the timetable of almost a century later history repeating itself

The stock market hit an all-time high days after the election, and we’ve already seen some promising interactions between Trump and foreign entities in Asia. I’m not even a Trump supporter, nor am I particularly impressed with the direction he’s gone since he won, but some things are being done right that probably would not have happened under Hillary, Cruz, or Rubio. His cabinet has a few misses, but a few solid picks like the Secretary of Defense. You still don’t seem to understand that Trump ran on being an outsider who can make decisions unbeholden to the establishment or donors, with a populist economic platform. In these respects, he’s doing fine for a guy who hasn’t actually taken office yet.

And the Russia part is complete BS, fyi. For all their crying about Russian hackers, the CIA refused to brief the Senate on it when asked. Yes, Trump will have better relations with Russia than the person who threatened MILITARY ACTION in response to perceived cyberattacks. I have no doubt that, had Hillary been elected, this narrative would have been used to throw us into a war with Russia. Instead, it has been recycled in a last-ditch effort to delegitimize the election.

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump had plans for Russia. Having them as an ally would give us much more leverage in negotiating with the Chinese. There isn’t some elaborate conspiracy here; making deals that result in mutual benefit is one aspect of business that translates to foreign policy.

Not I am not on medication just heavily against Trump. In this forum, I am a crazy dumbass but alot of others agree on my opinion. This thread is Trump biased and I am heavily against him. It is like me going to say Breitbart. I get trashed immediately. If the flipped was the case. You would be treated like trash.

Stock market hit an all time high due to the tax cuts of businesses and hoping that Trump will start up the economy. That doesn’t always translate to more jobs. It may happen we will see. Trickle down economics is great for businesses but I don’t know about actual working people. Rich just get more richer. And we were on this strategy when the economic recession occurred. And I have learned alot. I am just on the opposite side of and I am against Trump. That said I hope he does well.

I don’t want Americans losing their jobs or in a recession. Also he needs to stop tweeting. He wants division and not unity clearly. He speaks to his supporters and insult anyone against him.

Most Americans voted for Clinton and I am on that side of the equation. That is all that is about.

But the election is done now. No point bringing that up. I give you credit for not bringing up illegal voters like some do. You lot are more sensible Trump supporters which is cool.

Liberals and Conservatives are more opposed to each other than ever these days. Trump should work with uniting the nation as Bush Jr. did when he won but seems he is more divisive than ever. But it is clearly Trump supporters vs non-Trump supporters.
