Regardless where he was born, look at the facts, he destroyed the Middle East, killed Gaddafi who called himself the wall that kept radical Islam out of Europe, resulted in the current destabilization of Europe, keeps going around trying to brainwash people into accepting Islam (instead of Islam accepting the area they migrate to), trying to indirectly kill Assad and get people to support the terrorists in Syria, wants war with Russia, etc, and that’s just a small list.

The fact of the matter is that the Democrat Party has been eviscerated over the past 8 years.
If it was anybody else, you would get people asking hard questions about what it means to be a “successful” President and coming to the conclusion that voters have punished Obama because he wasn’t one.
Instead, because people want really really badly to be able to say “America’s First Black President was a great President”, we’ve ended up in a weird position where anything bad that happens to the Democrat Party is the fault of the Republicans/racists/Russians. All of a sudden, the ballot box, as a means of gauging what people want and how they feel is “not working as intended”.
Obama having over 50 percent favorability while his party loses the Presidency, governorship and seats in both Houses is a kind of anomaly that we will probably never see again. When the haze of wishful thinking and the ideological stakes over “what his presidency meant” fade away, history will not judge BHO very kindly.

Honestly? What Putin said about Obama and Clinton might have meant more than simple dislike. Obama, the “monkey”, was nothing more than a puppet for the DNC. He might not have entered politics or even the presidency like this, but he quickly went from “change” to “maintain”. Hillary “the snake” Clinton was one of the people actually calling the shots from the inside.
So the point remains, “why did they let Obama win but not Sanders”? For one, Sanders was never an actual Democrat and had no love for them beyond some policy overlap. As an elderly Jewish man, he didn’t really resonate with minorities, which the DNC has been pushing hard in order to overtake the South and win more non-proportional seats such as the Senate. Also, I imagine sheer hubris from party leaders played a part; they knew Donald Trump would dominate a divided Republican primary, and hoped this election would be the chance to push Hillary Clinton onto the American people, despite her unpopularity. They couldn’t imagine losing, so they went with the candidate who served their own interests best without looking at the actual poll numbers.
Since certain posters in this thread want to bury talk of the election (because Hillary supporters are starting to realize they look like a bunch of damn tools), I’ll admit that this is more analysis than looking forward. Will Trump turn out well after all? We’re not really going to know until he takes office because we have so few precedents to go off of. The cabinet picks are a mixed bag of some really good choices and some really stupid ones (Jeff Sessions, Rick Perry). That might be the best description of what to expect: Trump could do some really great things, but will pull a few head-scratchingly bad moves that will get reported to death.
