Eh, you’re judging him by a typical political lens. I think a lot of his supporters (you know, the people that actually voted for him) see it as a measure of transparency and accessibility to hear quotes straight from the man himself without layers of staff, secretaries, and editors putting words in his mouth. Whether or not Trump’s approach is the best option is debatable, but you can’t ignore that it got him this far.

The way I understand it is that Twitter enacted some algorithm so that only negative posts would float to the top of his twitter, Trumps.

I’ll have to look into that claim more… maybe it’s just cooordinated trolling… they don’t want him on Twitter directly communicating with people, hes being obstructed at every level. Trump knows the power of social media and so do his detractors.

Honestly I think it’s high time Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, social media as a whole recons with the 1st amendment. I’m sorry but being a private entity does not exempt them from the constitution. If they want to say businesses are people then the same rules should apply.

Sadly, and as much as it irritates me otherwise, they do not apply. They have a right to do whatever they want with their service. Only solution is the “vote with your wallet” thing and just refuse to use the service. Shitty solution, though considering that unless the world at large does the same, those in control of Twitter/Facebook/Youtube can basically just say “Bye, Felicia!” in response and nothing changes.

What the “Trick” actually was is the blue checkmark trolls would create a tweet thread with their own multiple tweets, and the twitter algorithm would prioritize threads over single tweets to the top of the responses of whoever creates it first. This is why they set their alerts to the moment Trump responds in order to jump on it quickly:

These were some of many that Trump blocked for good reason. So it wasn’t Twitter manually moving negative posts to the top, just the trolls abusing the algorithm.

Anybody expecting anything to happen tomorrow is probably hoping for way way too much. Comey will throw out some stuff and it’ll be digested. It’s part of the ongoing process. Politics is usually a long grind. There’s some thought that nothing meaningful could happen until 2018, as it’s only a crime when Democrats do it. Whatever Demoncrats do, it’s probably wrong. I would like Trump to get serious mental and political help and serve out his term. His team seems to think he’s a crazed and irresponsible loose-cannon… I’d like to think that there’s something in there that could maybe listen to reason and sanity, but … it hasn’t seemed to happen yet.
