huh? i know that. i said she would have shattered her hands because she was hugging spiderman. her hands are on his back with her on top when they fall through steel and glass. those shits (hands) would have been all kinds of fucked up. probably a few fingers cut clean off. better directing would have had him catch her, say tuck in, or tuck her hands in real quick, and he just take the full impact while holding her with her tucked into him. hollywood is just filled with morons, so thats out the window.
not to mention i highly doubt that infrastructure would just shatter to pieces from like 250 pounds falling on it from that height. but i can deal with that. but gwen somehow having superhuman skin durability because of poor directing is just sad. its the little things that count sometimes.
i mean, yeah its a movie, but sheesh. plus i always saw spiderman as a comic character who worked within the realms of real world physics then anyone else.
Well sure but this shit is broken in movies all the time. It’s hard to find an action movie that didn’t have at least one instance of physics being fucked with.
I liked in Last Action Hero when they make fun of that tripe. Arny smashes through a car window and fucks up his hand, and the kid reminds him you can’t actually punch through glass.
I can’t stop thinking Jamie Foxx is going to be the downfall of this movie. All I am thinking of is jokes like “Elecbro” and “World without power…I’m gonna rock yo world!”
There are like a thousand references to pull from.
There is a distinct difference between ‘villains’ and ‘setup’. I’d have no quarrels with ‘introductions’ for sake of future installments…the issue would come in if all these people were truly involved on a ‘villain’ level for this particular movie.
from the trailers alone we know Spidey has to deal with the Osborns, Rhino, and Elecbro. I get the feeling Smythe will just be here as a setup, but still, seems a little cluttered. Spider-Man 3 had just 2 villains, and that seemed to just ruin shit. Throwing in a villain just for the sake of saying their in there makes no sense.
Should have just saved some of these clowns for Sinister Six
Aren’t the villains in this movie considered the Sinister Six? They showed the Doc Oc’s arms, Vulture’s wings, and then the villain’s we’ve already seen. I wouldn’t be surprised if they are the whole plot of this movie.
It was 3 villains, you forgot Harry (though technically he was only a villain for half the movie). Sandman and Harry was fine until they shoehorned Venom in at the last minute.
You can do 3 villains you just have to be very careful about it. I don’t think Smythe will be a huge deal, just there to likely set up a future movie. Rhino seems to be there just to be the initial piece to move everything forward in the beginning but then Harry and Electro take over…maybe.
Idk, at most it’d be Harry pushing the villain count too high. They really should’ve saved that for later.
These movies, in all likelihood, are building up to a Sinister Six finale of some sort. That’s why we’re seeing so much of it, especially evidenced in the after credits ending of the first movie.
People also tend to forget that Raimi didn’t want to do Venom, he was forced to do Venom, so it’s not at all surprising that he did a shitty job with Venom. He didn’t care about that character.
Well wasn’t Rhino in the last game? He’s in the movie now, so having Kraven wouldn’t be a problem. As a couple of people have said, Mysterio would also be pretty cool, but Kraven is my most wanted villian in a Spidey movie. Scorpion would require JJJ, so he would be a good way to introduce him into this new universe.
