this thread brings a tear to my eye. I’m so happy to fucking finally see a reggae related thread on SRK. Roots Reggae is my main genre of music i listen to ( not dancehall) shit i love reggae music more than rap or rock seriously. I even have roots on vinyl, cds, and mp3thrizzles and on 45 vinyl single there are some wicked tracks you just gotta search. many of the old records are now being re pressed onto new vinyl so finding a vintage classic can be easier now. so much love for the music. check these artist out so ruthless. oh yeah stoner bitches ( girls ) jock roots reggae when you blaze with them . fyi

The artist/group is called Kya Bamba, and they’re from Switzerland of all places. I have no idea how famous or popular they may or may not be, haha. My brother showed it to me, he likes reggae a lot.

I came in here to say that I hate reggae and that every time I hear reggae I just about want to walk away. Most times I can’t or else I’d never listen to reggae. I’ve tried but it just makes me feel like the opposite of chill. Reggae is music I’d murder to because reggae made me want to murder.

It’s kind of weird how Reggae and Dancehall are being mishmashed together in one category.
When I think of Reggae, I think of Bob Marley and Steel Pulse.
When I think of Dancehall, I think of Shabba Ranks and Sean Paul.
So I guess this is more of a hybrid thread? Might as well just include Reggae, Ska, Rocksteady, Dancehall, and RaggaJungle all together in the thread. Ragga and Rocksteady tend to be distinct enough, but it seems people mix-up Reggae, Ska and Dancehall.
