I currently have 2 of these. One I modded with a Sanwa Bat Top and octogonal restrictor plate and the other I got used so I could mod the hell out of it.
In the second stick, I plan to replace everything except the stick and switches itself. Buttons replaced, pcb replaced with a PSX. However, I want to still use the board that contains the start, back, guide, etc. buttons. Does anyone have some kind of a diagram that details out all the wires that go to it (ground, signal, led for the guide button)? Just curious if someone already knows before I start trying to do trial and error testing.

hi guys, I’m new about arcade stick & stuff.
I have fighting stick ex2, can I mod this stick to become compatible for PS3?
because VSHG ps3 can be dual mod sticks, it’s very awesome. (and after I searched information, I just knew EX2 PCB is not common ground)
I already bought ex2 and I really want to mod to ps3.
any explanation really appreciate, either it can or it cannot be mod to ps3.
Coz I already ask the same question for about 2-3 forums, but no one answer this question.
thx before.

I can’t take credit it for it as I didn’t make it, cheers to the person who did.
dude thanks so much
u da man :woot::bgrin::encore:
finished sanwa modding my ex2 last night. took about an hour and a half to do. I swapped the stick’s microswitches with the ones that come with the sanwa JLFs. I ordered a set of buttons from rod(himuyaamusements guy) a looong time ago, and he forgot to ship out my stuff for like 4 weeks, so he gave me another set of buttons and that extra JLF microswitch set thing for free.
since the solder points poke out on the microswitch board’s flat side, i had to drill holes on the hori plastic part to match those points for the board to lay flat. also, the actuator on the hori shaft doesn’t hit the square/octagonal gate properly unless the gate was lowered, so i had to do something about that anyways.
used an octagonal gate, but the square gate that comes with the ex2 will work just fine as well.
here’s the finished stick. it only arrived in the mail yesterday, so i didn’t have time to make a custom graphic. i dont have a matching balltop yet, either :shake:
Whoever made it, I love you
as for clivefrog, you get a cookie for finding/linking it
What type of octagonal piece should I buy for my Ex2 stick. I am having trouble finding the right one. Link please.^^
Can someone help me?
I want to make this stick into a 4-way joystick for Pacman type games.
What is the best/easiest way to do this?

okay, sorry for being ignorant, but can anyone explain what the consequences of the sanwa-height problems could be? i really need to mod mine soon and i’d rather use the sanwa shaft and actuator as people keep saying the hori-shaft and actuator actually has problems already with the diagonals. and i’m actually having a lot of trouble with the diagonals lately for some reason, and i didn’t have any problems before
is there even a way to fit the hole sanwa jlf body in this stick?
but could the shaft-height problems be solved with some, or a shitload of, washers to shorten the shaft-length? i haven’t sat down and really read everything about these mods, so i don’t know if it’s negative or positive height problems the sanwa sticks will have.
What i did was grind down the end of the shaft, just keep enough to keep the e-ring on. you can always add a new straight edge screwdriver slot. Then grind down part of the bottom metal plate, not enough to go through the metal but just enough to make it lower than the surrounding plate. Then i covered the inside of the bottom plate with electrical tape and done. Didn’t use any part of the hori stick or buttons.
My octagonal piece came now I can finally do specials easy!
Would anyone happen to have that template linked above?
When I clicked it, I guess they dropped it.
Edit: Nevermind. Found one.
Protech Composites makes these sweet carbon fiber sheets that look pretty cool as a backdrop. The resin is harder then plexiglass and doesn’t scuff easily, I’m liking it so far.

1 square foot sheet covers 2 sticks so I’m gonna get another doa or ex2 and get some even 2 player action going.
Would you mind posting where you found it? I’m having trouble locating one…
Sorry for the late reply. Just came back to see what was new.
Here’s the link to where I found the template.

Sorry if this question has been answered already but while going through the thread I didn’t see the answer. Which stick is harder to get in there? I have both a LS-32 and a JLF and I would like the Seimitsu in there but if the JLF is easier to get in then I guess I’ll go that way. Thanks
Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this, but I was wondering if there was anybody around that would do this mod for a fee? Most of the custom stick builders aren’t taking orders, or it’s way out of my budget, and trying to comprehend a lot of this stuff is about to make my nose bleed.
If this isn’t the right spot to ask, could you direct me to a place that might be?
Thanks in advance
