But I have no idea how active it is or anything though.

Goddamn this game looks good.
I think I’ll be jumping on this as soon as its released state side.
A few random things:
I don’t care about lack of bosses or story. I don’t play fighting games for the story and considering how absolutely fucking sick I am of Seth, Gill, every SNK boss, etc. I don’t think I’m missing out on much. Yes I know it seems unpolished not to have those things. Some people will hold that against the series, and that’s a fair critique given what we’ve come to expect over the years. Not an issue for me; I only use the one player mode for practice anyway. I’m glad they chose to use their time for
Making the animation and sprites absolutely fucking beautiful. Reused sprites–whether its from previous KOF games or CvS 2–always strikes me as lazy and apathetic. Even now after all this time of playing CvS 2 I’ll look at Morrigan and think, “Damn did they HAVE to just fucking rip you’re sprite, couldn’t they have touched it up just a little bit??”
Thank God for no tag ins. The hecticness that comes with that shit gets annoying, I like one-on-one fighting. Also as long as there are a couple of characters I can really get behind and a few more I can use to mix things up on occasion I don’t care about the size of the roster in a fighting game. No idea how balanced this game will be, but if it is then roster size won’t be a big deal (I mean look at how many characters CvS 2 or MvC 2 has and look at how many are actually used on a regular basis…)
SFHD, Blazblue and now KOFXII = 3 beautiful 2D games released in the period of less then a year. Nice. Its actually a good time to be a 2D fan again…
Akelexre
And yeah, I’d also like to see SS and Last Blade given this kind of treatment too…
KOF sticking with the MI series…wow dude just wow.
Wow!
Orochinagi got a visual overhaul since the last time I visited that forum :looney:
Jumping the gun a bit are we?
Don’t worry. He won’t play them if they’re not low-tier.
Hatred Edge is right. Once a tier list comes out for the game and their not low tier, I’ll drop them :arazz:
But for the moment, those are my characters of interest for now
People who follow tier lists are stupid…
<—Plays low tiers most of the time
I’m stupid?
Is it because of tier lists or are you just naturally attracted to fail?
It would be cool if they made a b.s. boss just to please the haters. It could just be a all black shadow that shoots shadow balls.
or they could have an all black background and you fight an outline or something stupid.
You shouldn’t worry about tiers…tiers mean shit if you’re bad at fighters…work on your SKILL…thats what most people want (although SFA3Upper kinda contradicts this because it fixed things and no one wanted to play it…)
and no, now is not a good time to be a 2D fan…now is a good time to be a FIGHTING GAME FAN, period. There’s gonna be practically something for everyone at this point…
B-B-But I love my low tiers =(
Just want you to know I read through all that, just don’t feel like point-to-point referencing. Yeah, my HDRs did mean HD Remix.
I do have to say… even if DEEP KoFXII play ends up broken… from a series standpoint, how much will it really matter? This game is trying to be impressive to watch and fun, as best as a 2D Pixel game can be in the age of HD gaming. Niche market will play KoF XII, no matter what, and XIII will be played by “us” as long as it’s a solid improvement over XII.
I mean, I know, you all mention how custom combos break games, but before the advent of online, when all some of us had to play with were the locals… V ism and it’s ilk were pathetically underpowered feeling. It was fun to watch, sure, but I know it wasn’t the “winners choice”, that’s for sure.
I know I’d love it if KoF inexplicably gained MK-like sales, lol. Man, my best years of varied KoF enjoyment was playing with the random weirdos in the local malls and arcades. KoF Neowave and Battle Fantasia are very fun games online, but… they’d be a lot more fun if there was a wide variety of players, rather than JUST the technical experts, ALL the time, y’know?
With all that said… I hope this game can ride the SFIV coattails, so that it can get a boost towards Semi-mainstream popularity. I also hope SNK can outdo their own expectations for a home port, and that what we end up getting at home isn’t just a straight arcade port, but possibly also a “closer to final-games-in-arch style” version of what they’re initially offering to arcades.
Especially since the SFIV TE stick will be great to use for this thing… Ok, if they can’t perfect XII before home release, just give us XII and 2002 UM together in one package with awesome netcode, together, at normal new game price or cheaper, and we’ll deal with the lack of a proper boss and all! I could deal with that, lol.
That is heavy wishful thinking
Another location test in Japan apparently: http://game.snkplaymore.co.jp/event/kof-xii-loca_090131/index.html
I hope they had the updated HUD by that time.
they probably will. i just hope everybody gets a few new winposes and a few extra supers to boot. thats pretty much my biggest wish. now, if they would add supercancels to it, it would be pretty much perfect.
also, who here will be i japan by the time the loketest will b held?
I don’t really care for Super-cancels.
I just hope they add more winposes and special intros to have that personal touch.
Two DMs per character would be fine by me. I just wonder if they’ll have being able to combo into DMs from lights like before.
watched some gameplay footage today and this game has me slightly interested
i don’t know how much support it will get from arcades and customers when the console version releases though
