A)It’s expected that since Iori lost his purple flames he MAY have new moves. Especially since all but 2 of his moves can be done without flames(Shingo anyone?). But that’ll be pretty damn lazy.
B)As for his OG self you should have mentioned that in the first place. It could happen since Iori is damn popular and they did it for Kyo. But SNK is cutting whatever/whoever this time around. So if you expect an alternate Iori it might not happen in KOFXII.

I agree on this, but also, even if I’m not really a big fan of Iori, I wouldn’t be suprised, if that would happen, since there are a lot of Iori fans, and it’s also not that much work to animate only a couple of plus moves with flames for a secret char, and this way it would still be okay with the storyline, and would please the fans.
Iori has moves from other games that can be adapted to flameless versions as well. I expect a flameless Iori to end up resembling Freeman from Garou somewhat.

Freeman animations seems good. I can really see that happening. It’s not so hard to eliminate a projectile move anyways. His fireball could do w/o the flames. So it’s not big of a loss. Just give him is laughing win, and lay down and die, bam, there’s your Iori.

IORI- is hella popular for being the eternal rival of kyo, pupular enough to make his own saga but I think that is very unlikely.
Oddly that’s my argument for K’ as to why he should be in KOFXII. He wasn’t just any character or some side character. He was a KOF hero character. Being a main hero character does kinda out him as a better choice for whoever from the Nests saga.

from CX:UK, September 18, 2008 - SNK Playmore has revealed that it is looking into giving the aging Metal Slug series an HD refit, potentially taking the shooting franchise down the same path as the forthcoming King of Fighters XII.
“In order to meet our fans demands for an HD version of Metal Slug, we’re considering bringing this series to the new generation of consoles in a similar way to KOF XII,” said SNK Playmore in an interview with IGN to be published later today, continuing, “We look forward to announcing this someday soon.”
Metal Slug 7, an all new instalment exclusive to the DS, is coming to these shores later this month.
