omg-hopefully we can get vids
I hope it is at PZ for more then Easter weekend, because unfortunately I already made plans.
The main thing right now is to build hype, more hype, and then throw in more hype. I look foward to it. If houston is doing casuals, then Portland should go ahead with the tournament (AND PUT IT ON A BIGGER MONITOR >.< lol)
I’ll prolly play this online day one even though I’m going to be destroyed severely. Though I suppose the console only characters will probably require unlocking.
If this is the case then OSCAR WE MAY HAVE A FIELD TRIP lol.
Seriously though…I’m gonna look into this…
Hell I’d show up EASILY for this…I’d pay the fee and all…
PA: I agree!!! Keep the hype machine going!

Hope this game takes off some in America. It looks like good fun and could make the 3V3 set up more interesting at tournaments.
yea, and apparently with the Console ver. having some sort of clan support. I smell excellent online competition (XBOX360 peeps teach me! lmao)
yeah, they will get the official version later in april, but for now its gonna be that set up for that weekend. Terry, Ralf, and Shen are gonna knock some anime convention kids heads…
Terry always knocks heads. It’s his speciality.
This is the big problem, even with limited movesets, the moves aren’t always so good. Let’s take Ralf and Clark as an example.
Ralf has 3 moves - the mash punch, the autoguard punch thing (qcf+P), and the move where he punches the ground and causes an explosion (qcb+P). Mash punch has some sick potential since it’s possible to sometimes link attacks after it. The autoguard punch I don’t understand at all. It’s obviously slow as hell, and it does such piddly damage even if it connects… maybe there’s some followup that isn’t listed? I don’t know. The ground pound is pretty bad - the A version has pathetic range, the C version is a little better but the startup isn’t invincible at all meaning you will get hit out of it, and it has some recovery as well. So that’s all Ralf can do - no command throw, no Ralf Kick, no Ralf Tackle, no air dive punch thing (or the charge down, up + P version), etc etc.
Clark is even worse because as far as I understand it, he only has the SAB + finisher and the mash punch. SAB is WORSE than it is in pretty much every other KOF since you can’t even use it as a wakeup move without getting hit out of it now. The same goes for his super too, obviously. As for the mash punch… it was never a move anyone ever really used for Clark, and now it’s back? Whatever. So no frankensteiner, no rolling cradle, no napalm stretch (ok that move was never that great), etc.
Yeah some characters like Kyo and Ash get rather robust move lists, but then others barely get shit. In a game with so few characters (by KOF standards), you kinda want every character to have a lot of stuff going for them, instead of having them feel so limited.
I would suggest getting over this worry you have of turtle Athena being too good, because she’s nowhere near 2K2 status. C version of Psycho Ball has huuuuuge startup and recovery lag, and she has no teleport. Her reflector stays right in front of her face, which makes it almost impossible for that move to hit pokes without Athena getting hit too. The only good thing about reflector is that Athena recovers a second before it disappears entirely, and if it somehow manages to hit someone out of the air she can juggle afterwards. Also there’s no qcb+P followup to her DM, meaning if she guesses wrong and it’s blocked, she’s a sitting duck.
I have been trying to play Raiden and haven’t done too well with him. I’ll give him and Andy another shot next time I head down to play it (probably on Saturday)
I thought it was already confirmed that Elisabeth would be one of the console characters, she was in some artwork and everything.
yeah elisabeth is like… the #1 candidate for a console character lol
one thing ralf can use his ground punch for is juggles in the corner (possibly even out of the corner?)
Oh yeah, forgot Liz.
We all assumed she be in just cause of some artwork, they can’t turn back now though. So slash Chizuru, though she would be awesome.
Another thing to not worry about Athena is to just parry the projectiles and be on your merry way to knock her brains out.
too bad circuit city already closed, lol
anyway has somebody tried this maybe FullMetalRoss
does iori still has his crossup kick? and how easily is to connect because in kof xi it isn’t as useful because of the floaty jumps
Any information on effective ways to use Benimaru’s electric force field DM?
Here’s a vid from saturday:

Terry seems to be faster then in the last few KOF’s I played, thanks for the vid. Any good vids on Andy yet?
Thanks for answering my question, Lord.
Nevermind tickets to Houston are out of my budget ;( I’m going to have to stick to the Portland plan and hope someone in Portland is hype enough to make something happen.
And I hope you all keep me posted either way so I can make a decision…
