damn, 09 is gonna be too damn good. best time to buy a ps3? probably. ps3 price cut in march or may. sf4, re5, mgs4, gow3, kof12, ff13 and 13+, true gt5, yakuza 3. theres some nice ones coming over our way. BB should be nice as well for the gg style 2d fighters fans among us.

(lets hope a xb style emulator will qork in the future on the ps3, one can hope).

It should not be a problem. The game is rendered at 1280x720, which is used by everything like the backgrounds, lifebars, etc, but the sprites are half that, like 480x360. Check it out: http://www.1up.com/media/03/6/2/9/lg/222.jpg?r

So in terms of horserpower, this game shouldn’t take much. MUCH less than HDRemix, whose sprites and BGs were all drawn for 1920x1080. Even with all the extra animation, it doesn’t matter because the resolution of the sprites should make it cost chump change in terms of resources. The backgrounds will take more horsepower to render than the character sprites. They are the same res as Guilty Gear sprites, actually.

Now actually getting any kind of nice netcode into the game? That’s entirely another story, since SNK has yet to prove that they care or know anything about GGPO and ‘unlagged’ netcode.

Yeah i’ll get to beat the crap out of you in that game instead of SF4. Lol, just playing.

Its like finding out that tee xbla release of 98UM is delayed until god knows when makes me want this game that much more. I’ve already wanted to play this more than SF4, summer does feel far away though.

the reason games like 98um and kof2002um don’t get an immediate release date after their japanese counter parts is because nobody is willing to pay 50 for a 2D game here in the U.S

the same is happening with kof xii, even in its HD glory. I’ve been hearing people in other boards, they likely buy the game when it comes out but they wouldn’t pay 60 for a 2D game, maybe 30 or 40 they say.

You can simply look at the screens in full res for either game. Blazblue has 720p sprites, KOFXII has 480p sprites.

I think that if they market the HD 2D graphics angle hard enough like they have been, they could easily sell some copies for 40 or 50.
