To be fair - these ARE teenagers we’re talking about. They’re fucking morons.

Couple of friends of mine were talking about our old high school curriculum (as one of the guys in the crew has a two year old) and got on the subject of sex-ed. He is against it because he’d rather explain it to his kid instead of the State. My position was that it’s not for advocating sex its to have an understanding first and foremost of it’s function and all the things that are associated from a standpoint of biology. Not like you are going to have the sax playing in the background as part of the lesson.

Yeah,

It easnt hard for me to understand that fucking random hoes could reault in kids.

And politicians serioulsy tried pushing for the lowering of voting age

One of my professors in sociology made this his mantra about adolescents

Kids get real dumb around 15 and real smart at 22.

Well, you aren’t everyone else.

Oh I definitely think the voting age should be raised, if anything. Your brain isn’t even fully developed until 25.

I agree to an extent. The reality is that you can serve in the US military at age 18. If you can fight for your country, you should be able to vote.

I think if you voluntarily sign up for the military at 18, it’s irrelevant.

DRAFTING on the other hand, should match the voting age. But I’d still favor drafting raise to match rather than voting lower to match.

That is, unless you want to jump into a Heinlein style merit based citizenship.

Perspective, because its obvious you lack it.

Its not about keeping kids ignorant. Ita about preventing a degenerate kife style. You dont want a culture in which hook ups with tandom people is the norm, its bad, eapecially for women and their mental health. Its also fucking terrible for family structure and stabikity. Its also about having some self respect and dignity for both yourself and the othet person.

Now you can arfue the merits of self respect and responsibility all you want. But the entite premise is to be reaponsible with whom you choose to fuck, whom you risk having a kid, and ensuring whom you choose is the best peraon for the job.

I k ow your brain cant comprehend these ideas, and can only rationalize them as a foem of ignorance because you obviously cant comprehend tbese ideas. I mean, i jave to force feed you to them right here. So im going to help you out here and help you expand your tiny world view in ways you wouldnt even imagine.

So we have to spend bilkions to teach people cause and effwct. That actiond have consequences.

Did you know abortion and out of wedlock child births where relatively rare before welfare and the liberalisation of certin view points. And it literally coat society 0 dollars.

Funny how that works

Edit

Its almost as if people advocate for terrible ideas that have grave eonomic consequences on them and society as a whole, and then demand government to fic problems that never existed before these bad descisions.

Hmmmm

Its almost as we kive in a cukture where peraonal responsibility is a on existant.

The issue with sex ed isnt that kids are dumb, is that parents are hilariously irresponsible.

Lets take an incredibly wacky real life example on this: my archeology professor had a collegue at a medical school that had to deal with some amazing hilarity. You see, he’d keep getting kids from ultra religious backgrounds. Those students could not comprehend that men werent missing a rib from where god took one from Adam to make Eve. Therefore it wasnt uncommon for him to have to take a student’s hand and make them physically count the ribs.

All im getting from this is that society needs to spend billions because people arent being responsible to begin with.

Something something subsidization of shitty behavior.

I wouldn’t say so, maybe the adolescent brain doesn’t grasp what giving it all really means. That’s a huge thing to do. Both are equally huge decisions.

Agreed.

Sidenote: Why is it that women don’t have to fill out the selective service form? My understanding is that they can occupy any role within the armed forces.

Remeber i talked about how women are less reaponsible than men, and shouldnt be allowed the vote becauae they are less reaponsible than men.

Remeber i was talking about having a cukture and system that foatered more reaponsible voter base by having them be more tied to the system via taxes and things like civic duty and reaponsibility.

Hmmmmm

And many people here clutched their pearls and were loaing their shit over such a simple idea. Youre almost there friend. Almost

Sex ed in the US doesn’t need to promote shit. It can go quite simply like this:

Ok, we’re gonna tell you the ropes biologically, then give you all these problems that can arise. You’re better off just not doing this at all any time soon. But we know you’re dumb hormonal teenagers and will ignore this in favor of getting your rocks off, so at least take these things into consideration.

Doesn’t have to be much, but enough to paint a picture of horrors and then stick an idea in their head when the horrors get overridden by hormones to at least have a chance at saving them from those horrors if they choose to otherwise ignore 'em.

It doesn’t take billions to set aside a day in an already given Health class to go about giving this information out. It also gives people less of a leg to stand on with regards to the abortion issue, as the states most against it are also against educating people about it. If they were more about educating the risks, they’d have a much stronger argument.

But thats not what people are asking for.

People are asking for clases on how to use a condom. Bieth control (literal poison for womens brains), and orher safe sex practices.

Like motherfucker, the condom package twlls you how to use it. You jave a fucking ohone, use it to learn rather than be on pornhun all fucking day.

EVERYBODY HAS A FUCKING PHONE,

WHY DO WE NEED TO SPEND BILLIONS WHEN THE INFORMATION IS AT TOUR FINGERPRINTS

FUCK OFFFFFFFFF and learn to read. Stop handholding people all the fucking time.

Like @Cyntalan and I have said, it’s a discussion about biology, which addresses the cause and effect, as part of a curriculum that already exists within the school system.
