That is correct. By my viewpoint, I’m arguing my own vote away until I own land. Not only that, but you would still have a vote. Weird that I’m advocating that you get to vote and I don’t, huh?

The reality is that for every one of me who actually takes the time to really investigate my vote ahead of time, there are literal thousands that just take the first and/or last word from whatever authority they blindly respect and run with it, damn the consequences. These are the people with far more power than those that actually take time to understand what they’re voting for, and they are easily swayed by those with the power and money to dictate what should be said to them.

Reality - Minorities not contributing would lose their vote. Women not contributing would lose their vote. White men not contributing would lose their vote. That last part is what you’re choosing to ignore. Reducing universal suffrage to those who actually contribute would catch MOSTLY white men. Not only that, but there would still be a huge number of minorities and women that would STILL get to vote.

This does not equate to your twisted view of what was said.
