Mavs need to put pieces around Barnes and DSJ sooner rather than later. Dirk really shouldn’t be a starter at this point. Barea and Harris are around for nostalgia. Flip anybody else before the trade deadline. Cuban needs to go back to being Cuban, it’s like his lost his drive when they didn’t get Deandre.
To be honest nobody else is getting rebounfs except Dirk. They need him in a Barea is a playmaker. I agree they need to get more talent around those 2 but the team has so many freaking weaknesses. You also have to decide if you are gonna go full rebuild or not. You got DSJ which is a keeper. Are you gonna rely on Barnes as your as your second scorer? The problem is the Mavs are too good to tank effectively. Theu are bad but they won’t get a top 5 pick for it. They need to be trying to dump as much money to get Cousins. Cousins Barnes Dirk and DSJ can get you into the playoffs. Keep Barea and MAYBE Seth curry. Regardless though the team needs more youth and they just don’t have it.
Blame Cuban. He waits too late in the season to tank b/c he wants to do right by Dirk.
That being said, they have the second worst record in the league. Trae Young is a possibility.
