The 2020-21 NBA Thread: Raptors in 7

Is there any top center that Embiid hasn’t gone after yet? Boogie? Marc Gasol?

Overtime #3

I think even Embiid knows not to fuck with Boogie.

Also holy shit triple OT

Embiid gets into it with all the centers because he’s not a chump. Him and Boogie had words, but nothing super serious. A lot of vets expect young guys to not to play emotional against them and they catch feelings when Embiid doesn’t back down and is himself - trash talk and everything.

Brown should’ve had Booker or Holmes in instead of Saric. He was cold all night.

Refs messed up a ton. First they didn’t give Covington 3 shots on that foul. Then they didn’t let us advance the ball after the timeout and didn’t tell us.

I give credit to Brown for going for the win at the end because Embiid was gassed.

We really need Fultz out there - our guards are trash. And Simmons needs to get that 15-footer going. If he does, he’ll be unstoppable.

It’s too bad he plays in bumfuck Utah.

Embid triggering everyone lmao he maybe just be better than Reggie in the psychology game LOL

Kanter vs tro-el should be fun. Porzingod usually doesn’t get into the on court stuff but Kanter loves that shit.

On OKC… when the bench shortens up in the playoffs this team will be dangerous. Not as good as GS or Houston but I doubt anyone will want to see them in the playoffs. Not worried about this squad competing.

It took 7 years to figure out who killed Lorenzen Wright, and the suspect was right in front of them the whole time.

I like his quotes after the game

me and my fam called it back when it first happened that she had something to do w it. it was written in her body language.

Lorenzen’s body was found like 10 mins up the street from my house…i have to drive by that field everyday on the way to work.

Seeing Embiid’s words about the last time someone threw a punch reminded me of when Shaq almost caught an attempted murder charge swinging and missing on Brad Miller and the Childs 2-piece on Kobe. Miss those regular Knicks-Heat brawls too.

Beasley has always passed the eye test but something just never clicked with him.

I actually would have took him over Rose stupidly in that draft (as in coming out of college he looked like a better prospect to me). However he’s playing the best ball of his career right now. What’s strange is he is going games where he is getting DNP- coaches choice to be the leading scorer and offensive leader. It’s pretty mind boggling how up and down he’s been playing.

The Knicks are an amazing home team but I truly won’t get excited for this team until they start winning meaningful games on the road.

Still beating a .500 western conference team when your 2 leading scorers is out is a promising sign. Especially a team that’s as solid on D as OKC.

I think they are a playoff team but put Philly over them as of now, that could change if hardaway comes back 100% and they start winning on the road. This team is really well built from top to bottom with pieces that compliment each other well.

Also Jack can’t keep this level of ball up. It just won’t happen, the French Prince will need to take over overall pg minutes before Jacks body gives out on him.

Good win tonight, coach needs to find more ways to get Beasley involved when the team is 100%. He’s playing to good right now not too. He looked like a legit starter on a playoff team tonight.

Espn/media isn’t dickriding the rockets like they have/did the warriors and heat. Hmmm

Damn, if Dirk was just 4 years younger this last stretch would have not been scoreless … :frowning:

OKC is straight garbage. Westbrook is playing some of the most selfish basketball I have ever seen in the NBA.

I hate to see the Grizz play so hard only to have the guard play fuck it up…Marc put the team on his back in the 3rd quarter to get the lead after being down 20+, in opening of the 4th…the guards get like 5 straight turnovers and that whole effort gets erased inna matter of minutes.

I haven’t given up hope that they can still turn this around and sneak into the bottom half of the playoffs in the 2nd half of the season once Mike is back but this has been terrible the last couple weeks

They we’re too busy sucking OKC dry. Since that didn’t work out, they are creating Lakers/Lavar content every other day

I’m okay with no media attention much better that way. The real test is coming up soon with some injuries it will be interesting to see if Zhou Chi sees more minutes.

this year’s media coverage is all about the circus. its great entertainment, but it speaks to how broad the appeal this year is: its more about fireworks and pomp instead of winning.

plenty of topics that don’t involve straight winning and win/loss, and that’s good for the league. almost every team has a story line and that’s what the NBA needs.

It’s def what the league “needs” because it sells. Doesn’t necessarily mean it’s good for the sport. The more soapy the coverage gets, the more it attracts non hardcore “fans” or bandwagoners.

Molly: Lebron was seen ordering cajun food take out. Stephen A, could we possibly see LeBron going to New Orleans?
SAS: I mean, you have to take into consideration this brother is the best player in the planet, bla bla shill shill. Having said all of that, New Orleans is a good place for him but we don’t know yet.
Max: Of course it is a good spot. Listen, any team that adds in Lebron James will become a title contender instantly. This man is having an MVP season every season, he makes everyone in the team better and when analyzed by the most advanced metrics, his dick tastes so good.
