Outside of a few seasons with the Heat and him dragging band Cavs teams to the playoffs doesn’t he usually half ass stuff unless 'big ’ games or playoffs?

This is similar to Harden where he got away with being lax on defense and I’m saying that nicely because everyone else was a somewhat capable defender and would pick up the slack.

The difference is Harden is at least just bad on defense. He knows he’s gonna get his ankles broken.
LeBron when he tries is GREAT on defense but now he just doesn’t bother which is more infuriating. You don’t expect to get any great defensive play from Harden, but LeBron is just willingly being bad. The Lakers are giving up the most points per game in the league since he activated “Playoff Mode”.

Don’t have to imagine it. It’s coming. LeBron is gonna get shut down for the year, Walton will get fired. He’s learning the hard way that not even he can just will any team to the Finals any time he wants.

I mean short of them being in a top seed position at the mid point, I think everyone knew Walton wouldn’t be given another shot after this season.
And to be fair, outside of being hired far to young, he has had a lot of good talent to work with so it isn’t like he is blameless. That said who on Earth would take the Lakers job after this season?

Lakers should cut LeBron while they’re at it. He disrupted the growth of the young players under Luke Walton by forcing them to play “position-less” basketball. LeBron should be happy that he’s in LA. I’m sure since landing in LA, LeBron doesn’t have basketball at the highest priority. He has a ton of other side projects and investments to focus on.
