Gruden made a good point about it in that, given they would have had to leave on Friday / Saturday, and with the storm expected to hit during the weekend, it may be better for those players to deal with getting their families out of there in case and not have the game to worry about on top of that. Both teams having their bye week at the same time made this an option. As much as itâll suck for them to play 16 games straight, dealing with this storm hitting their homes is probably a much higher priority.

But honestly, what would you prefer they do? Play the game on a neutral site and be completely unfocused, or go 16 straight but be allowed to be with their loved ones during the Hurricane, keeping them safe and managing that situation.
