Well no shit, I think any player is expendable with a “offer that cannot be refused”. Aaron Rodgers would be out the door if a team offered two entire drafts for him.
He still isn’t going to be traded. Cleveland is literally the only spot that could even offer him anything, because no one else is going to bother trading for a 1 year rental they cannot possibly afford a year later. The only team that would’ve considered that was the Rams and that went out the window the second they got Suh.
We might as well not care and just give the Rams the Superbowl this year. Talib, Peters, Donald, Suh… it’s not like they’re non-existent on offence either.
The Jets have the cap and the desire to upgrade enough to chase OBJ. The Jets have traded up for a QB. What better way to give him success than to pair him with a guy like OBJ.

Simple, the fact that because they had to trade up to begin with, they have absolutely nothing of value to give to the Giants.
OBJ is threatening to sit out the entire season. They might not need to give up much at all. The Giants will lose his rights eventually if they won’t pay him. It’s probably less of a headache for them to ship him for less than a king’s ransom, but more than a third round comp pick.

He can threaten all he wants, if he’s still on their roster by Week 1, he’ll be in his gear playing. His latest bout of drama means a holdout won’t do shit.
The absolute only ways OBJ is gone is if, he fucks up again, or the Giants 100% commit to blowing the entire squad up and starting from scratch (which they honestly should do, but that’s just me). That would also mean putting Eli on the block if not outright cutting him.
Eli needs to retire. He was never more than good and he’s been trending down for a while.
I have no bias against him either. He’s not in my division, I’m not a Pat’s fan and his off-field work is fantastic. If anything I feel like he should pursue his off-field work more.

Whether he should or not is irrelevant. The fact is that he isn’t.
Yeah I know that. Just giving my take.
What we should do is get a SRK NFL podcast happening. This thread discusses most of the news.

LOL at OBJ being a PR nightmare when the Giants knew their punter was abusing his wife and didn’t even cut him until after it came out to the media

The difference is that the GM is different now than it was at that time. Dave Gettleman wasn’t at the helm when that Punter shit came about. The only reason this is even a story (and even then he’s come out and said the whole “holdout” crap is bullshit that was made up) is because Gettleman has a history of shitcanning players that get on his bad side. See Norman, Josh.
There’s some talk of OBJ heading towards L.A
Probably won’t happen due to prohibitive cost but no one seems willing to take it off the table.
There is no talk of him leaving NY. Both Mara and Tisch have said they want him on the team and are working with Gettleman to get a deal done.
There are no rumors. Cut your bullshit

You mean the same exact shit I told you before and you didn’t listen? Huh, go figure that the Eagles’ fan knows more about your org.
There is nothing hard, obviously, but there are half a dozen articles speculating on it. I get you don’t want to believe it but if you just search CBS Sports Odell Beckham Jr. You’ll see a heap of circumstantial stuff pointing to a potential split.
No hard evidence obviously, but there are rumours which is exactly what I said. It’s come up in conversation.
Even if he signs a deal, it’s quite possible they’d trade him after it if they decide they’re in a rebuild or get sick of his drama.
You didnt tell me anything i didnt know.
These same rumors are from people who said belichek was going to coach the giants. The entire organization is tired of it. They are not shopping him. The rams potentially made an offer. It isnt nothing but is essentially nothing. They said theyre listening just like any team does. It essentially has to be the browns trading their #4 pick this year and 2 2nd rounders or an entire draft from another team.

I’m not even mad at this. A lot of us Redskins fan at least he would be as good as Sean Taylor but oh well.

Fuck the New Stupid NFL Rule
Playing Rule Article 8: It is a foul if a player lowers his head to initiate and make contact with his helmet against an opponent. The player may be disqualified. Applies to any player anywhere on the field. The player may be disqualified.
I’m just waiting for them to start wrapping players with flags around the waist now. Completely ridiculous.

So much for leading in with the shoulder to start a tackle because refs will see it as leading with the helmet. That’s an absolutely stupid rule.

The NFL considering banning kickoffs is game changing. Say goodbye to surprise onside kicks. Players who specialize in special teams will be gone from the league for the sake of player safety. Next thing the NFL will look at is punt returns and get rid of that play too.
