don’t get me wrong,i love watching streams for big events (free or not)
but ,at the same time, it’s because of them that we will probably never get an “official” dvd release for this or coop cup 9-10 or yabanpaku (i’m still waiting…)
and, frankly, this sucks - i love buying third strike stuff
aaaaand…they usually just stream all the matches off a single cabinet and then semis and final
in other words, you only get to see what ? 15 % of the action
i would gladly pay 2000 - 3000 Y for a dvd with all the matches on it
I understand your point Fran, but realistically you cannot get a hold of these DVDs outside of visiting Nishinippori Versus.
In Japan, if you love 3rd Strike it is not difficult to attend this event. 3 day weekend paired with a Shinkansen ticket or a cheap flight from Okinawa or Fukuoka.
I wish there were DVD releases as well. It is true that only about 15% of the matches get shown on stream. (T_T)
I hope that this stream attracts big numbers. It disgusts me how two scrubs playing each other at Wednesday Night Fights or whatever other gay ass named tourney will have 20k+ viewers (not the exact amount but I know it’s huge).
Premium price is 525 Yen = $6 I guess. Since the stream is free not PPV I think it totally legit to upload to YT.
Finalized the line-up! Total 38 teams (more last chance teams will enter on appointed days). Some important notice:
Team **[Shin Shimura Newtwon Movie :|] Jirou(GO)/Togawa(KE)/Guest1(YU)/Kitou(YU)/Hiroki(KE) **withdrew their spot (I don’t know reason) so Jirou joined another team (team no.38) which is even better team imo.
Some top players registered for Same character tournament but haven’t got a team for main tournament yet: Uni(NE), Nitto(YU) and … KSK(AL) lol
Is Killer Machine on MOV’s team Takayuki? Takayuki is one of the most aggressive Chun I’ve ever seen. Glad if that were true.
Ryan you can update your opening post now (update teams, stream URL, start time, etc…)
Is it the same guy who teamed up with MOV in a 2v2 (cant remember which one? @ gamers vision perhaps?) and just destroyed everyone whilst MOV watched and did nothing? lol
Additional info: Fukuoka prefecture from Kyushu region is the home of lots of Japanese 3S talents like Deshiken, Ushi!?, Goemon, Macho Banana… their Kyushu representing team won last year Coop Cup and got 3rd place at Yabanpaku recently. In those vids above you can see some of their new generation players like RB, Takaoman, Koupun… which are all really good especially RB, which giving me some hope for Urien users while his native homeboy Ushi!? drop Urien to main Yun
Kyushu is not too crazy about 3S like Kantou or Kansai IMO but deserves to give them some watch. Moreover this year they got Kuroda on their team
** 26. [Kyushu Men ~Dagashikashi~] Ushi!?(YU)/RB(UR)/Koupun.(IB)/KASQ(Q)/Kuroda(RY)**
Kyushu is mad crazy for 3rd Strike, it’s just their scene isn’t nearly as big as Kanto…then again, no scene in Japan is as big as theirs. They may not have the best players(aside from notable stars like Goemon, Ushi, Deshiken, Mokomokofu, and Tetsugoshi), but they have been thriving with what they have.
Starting times for the event we know and love for those in North America:

Cooperation Cup (main event) begins at 8:30pm EST / 5:30pm PST on Saturday, January 12th, 2013.
