That scrub in you

I think it’s not my day today. Almost everyone who I faced in ranked messaged me saying that I lag a lot. I got victimized again with that “cross art after getting hit by/blocked my jump-in” :frowning:

My first 2 matches happens to be a freeze-fest as well, and there is this match where I attempted to chip-damage Akuma to death but got my Shoryuken countered after seeing that he blocked it. I should’ve EX’ed the guy instead. -_-

Akuma/Lars vs Ryu/Cammy second round: Akuma gets wrecked hard. 10% life left. Ryu backs off waiting for a raw tag. “Hm I got 3 bars… I could cross assault to get some health for Akuma but… was it qcf or qcb to activate cross assault?” licks lips
"QCF mp+mk!!.. SH*T!" KO

Getting stuck in a “vortex” of cross-ups, frame traps, and block strings while your opponent jumps over your head over and over like it’s leap frog.

Happens almost too much to me…

Dash forward when they keep doing that, or neutral jump air to air them, since they are planning to cross you up you will beat them 10/10 times no matter what air to air you or they use, unless they have gdlk reactions. Or you know, just main Law and flip kick the shit out of them

You trolled me with that part cause you know me! <3

Am I a scrub for mashing Cr. LK when it looks like my opponent messed up his crossup spacing? Only asking because it usually works.

Only if it’s because they messed up, and not because you always do it regardless…

Dropping combo’s like a champ. Laggy situations where I KNOW I could have won…but thanks to lag…that doesn’t happen. Sometimes doing an input I know was correct but I get nothing and punished.

Oh and rock after a L senpusha combo finisher you can always use Fuhajin kick safely (even if they QR) and still be safe from harm. Hell you’re still at an advantage after storing (I tested this).

Ummm what else oh falling for overheads like Xiao’s, Lili’s sunflower lance (I swear that crap gets me all the time) being unable to tech after a jump-in. crouch teching WAYYYYYYY to much.

Her overhead kick hit me while I was in the air yesterday. She literally hit me with her toes. Seeing the raging demon getting groundbounced like that was not amusing.

I love the moment when I read my opponent but still fail to execute what I want to do. I played vs a Kazuya player who would try to reversal my jump in almost every time with EWGF. Stuffed it most of the time with cr. Lk/mk and then at that one critical moment I used cr. Mp instead… You know what happened…

dairy yeah!!!

That feeling you get when you’ve been playing Injustice way too much and keep thinking about playing SFxT & AE because they are far less broken.

There are more than one Guy player(s).

Getting hit by raw launchers because I’m predictable with the rushdown…need to switch it up more, finally starting to disrespect a bit now so that’s good I think

The pro in me wants to AA properly.

The scrub in me wants to block everything.

The scrub in me also won out and made this thread 2 months ago, so guess who’s winning…>_>

this thread must learn what scrub means

My Akuma in a nutshell

From what I understand, a scrub is a player who wins using unreliable gimmicks or strategies and doesn’t realize the flaws in his/her game plan. For instance, mashing Jabs on wakeup and getting away with it is scrubby. Once in a while, you should use a Jab when waking up to beat throws, mis-timed cross-ups, etc., but doing it all the time should not be rewarded. If a player gets raw launched or counter hit out of his/her wakeup jab, then the fraudulence is exposed. At this point the scrub can choose to do something about this problem, at which point he/she is no longer a scrub (in the regard of mashing Jab on wakeup, but could still be a scrub).

Basically, being a scrub indicates that you don’t actually understand the game.

I think a scrub is the person who keeps on complaining about other people’s playstyle, and are quick to say if a certain this or that is bannable. An example would be people who keeps on whining about Chris G’s zoning play in UMVC3 as well as those who insist that Justin Wong’s SFxT playstyle is fraudulent despite getting him into second place.

I agree to an extent, but even pro players will bitch about things they don’t like (like Chris himself on occasion).

Mashing Asuka’s counter during blockstrings or after a cross-up.

Forgetting that I can do Asuka’s EX Air grab to catch said cross-up.

Doing regular Cancan into EX Cancan if they block regular Cancan.

Doing cr.mk xx Dynamic Entry with Lars, even when not at footsie spacing, because no one punishes it online.

Missing Lars’ cr.mk juggle link after the Dynamic Entry launcher at the most critical moments.

Getting hit by EX FFR after Dex someone does 2 of them, I block both, then get hit by a 3rd one.

Jumping forward at Law. :shake:

Not DP-ing Law’s dragon rush combo.

Mashing EX DP in blockstrings for the Ryu/Ken Shoryureppa combo.

Doing cr.mk xx Raze with Paul even when I’m right next to the opponent and they’re clearly blocking low.

Burning meter on Asuka’s EX Air grab in combos even when my opponent is at 40%+ life and the combo is already scaled to heck.

Trying to do dash forward EX command grab with Asuka and getting EX Air grab instead.

Trying to CADC forward with Asuka and getting Cancans instead.

Pressing a button after my opponent blocks Asuka’s f.mp. Because, you know, it’s + on block online.

Doing the extended lp xx mp, lp xx mp, lk xx mk, cr.mp chain after overhead Asuka’s f.mp. Because scaling doesn’t exist.

Letting people jump on Asuka.

Trying to AA with Ken’s MP DP even when the opponent is obviously too far away for it to hit.

Playing with a controller with a half worn-out Heavy Punch button and being too stubborn to go out and get a replacement, thus leading to many dropped combos/inputs and much rage.

That’s all I’ve got right now.

I think I have a few:

  • Abusing Elena’s J. MP > HP target combo and never switching it up because no one (read, 10% of players) blocks it online.
  • St. LK xx EX Mallet Smash.
  • With Dudley doing straight St. HK xx EX MGB to combo when I have plenty of time to do St. MK > HK, link HK or St. MK > HK > HP, link St. MP instead.
  • Mashing EX Rekka with Bryan after a blocked crossup and getting grabbed every time. Or, getting a free combo every time depending on my opponent.
  • Neutral jumping on my foe’s wakeup.
  • Clearly unsafe walk-up grabs, especially with Poison.
  • Attempting to do a Dragon Punch motion and getting Cr. HP with Ogre. Oh, that one sucks so bad.
