Yah get hype!!!
Anyone from out of town attending this?
I know 4 or 5 of us from Oklahoma City are heading down.
Is there enough time for teams? If there’s 8 setups, the tourney will fly by.
People been asking about teams.
is this like a shits and giggles tournament or is this a major one?
A lot of people are coming, and there will be some serious competition.
There will actually be four setups dedicated to SSF4, two setups the Tekken/Blazblue, and Two monitors for a heads up setup that can also be used during the tourney. If the tournaments go quickly, there could be time for teams, but we have a time limit to work with. I would like to run a team tournament if we have time.
Sounds good Jeff. Hey you might want to edit the title of the thread with the date.
me and JC need a ride to this!!!
See everyone there!
ARK is gonna be repping this tourney. We’re bringing 5.
Confirmation on me going is down, can’t wait to see everyone out there and get some casuals in. Been awhile since I’ve done a Dallas tournament, let’s hope this one is just as hype.
Here are the rules for the tournament:
SSF4
Double Elimination
Blind Select may be requested
2/3 Sets
2/3 Rounds per set
99 Seconds per round
Winners and Losers finals will be 3/5 sets.
Grand Finals will be 3/5 sets.
If the player from the Losers bracket resets the sets, the player can switch his character.
Winner must keep the same character, but can select a new ultra in game 2 or 3, but has to pick the ultra before the opponent picks theirs. This does not apply to blind pick
In the case of a double KO at the end of a tied series, another set will be played until a winner is determined.
If a game is pause, the person who paused will forfeit the round. The only exception is if the game is pause during an ultra that would finish the round. Still a no no though.
Tekken 6:
Format: Evo Standard Format, Double Elimination, 3/5 Rounds, 2/3 Games, 60 Seconds
Console: Playstation 3
Rules: If the players do not agree on a stage within 15 seconds, the match will be random stage select.
Blind Pick may be requested
Blazblue:
Double Elimination
Sets are 2 out of 3 Matches / 2 out of 3 Rounds
Winner?s Final, Loser?s Final and Grand Finals will be 3 out of 5
Loser of the previous match may switch characters
Blind Pick may be requested.
Players in GF from the loser?s bracket must win two sets against player from
winner?s bracket.
Mu-12 and Makoto will be unlocked
Unlimited Characters are Not allowed
Hey jeff for Super SF4 all rules are on point except for the part with ultras. If you’d like to keep up with the EVO standard, here’s their ruling on the matter copied from the site :
“Winner must keep the same character, but can select a new ultra in game 2 or 3, but has to pick the ultra before the opponent picks theirs. This does not apply to blind pick.”
seems reasonable
That rule seems kinda weird to me… why does the winner have to pick it before the loser?
Cuz Mr. Wizard is fat??
Can you clarify? Does this only count if it’s 1 game to 1 and the 3rd game ends up as a draw game? Or do all games that end in a draw have to be replayed (like if I’m up 1-0 and we get a draw game).
Why not? The winner already won. He’s not supposed to get an even further advantage by being allowed to counterpick ultras.
A “tied series” would mean 1-1. If it was 1-0, both players would be awarded a win so it would be 2-1. Awarding each player a game when it’s 1-1 would make it 2-2. It can’t be 2-2, so that is why another game is played.
sounds fair, I like it. But is it another round, or another match? Assuming for now it’s another match, but then again I’ve never seen this happen in person hahah.
