The ones where hawk dive beats lariat clean and all of his grabs have more priority. 9-1 is a joke obviously but that match is for t-hawk
Yeah but for Dive to beat lariat, you pretty much have to be either on top of his head or bait Gief to stick something out. It’s not a free win button. The matchup is pretty much a paper rock scissor match normal-wise. With the new buff to spd in AE, its going to be easier for Gief to get in and play with Hawks goodies. Not to mention st.mp with Gief is great for punishing normals that just get stuck out.
Ya it’s probably gonna get crazy for Gief, that lp spd is sick nasty.
Graham, you have this thing called a Fierce Headbutt in the air. You really think Hawks are going to do endless dives? LOL They can’t do them anywhere on screen you can bait it from afar or use headbutt. His grabs don’t always have more priority…are you losing to some crazy T Hawk or something because Thomas and I play that match quite a bit and there is no way we agree Hawk wins thoroughly, a lot of that depends on the player…
Also that LP piledriver is only good if you can do walk up 360s…no one here does them but me and I did them very well in every SF game…if you base it off that video with the air Zangief coming down from far with 360 with LP then you have to be silly to be standing in that range with Gief jumping…it’s the walking piledriver you have to be scared of…
Come to think of it I think even timed Stand HK does something to Hawk Dive too
No I’m not losing to anyone, normally I’m the Hawk in that match and ya, of course no one is going to hawk dive all of the time, that would be silly. Also I know I have played that match that gief can’t safely spd on hawk’s wakeup cause if hawk mashes that spd it’s goes through. Now if it’s been too long, which is all to possible, then my bad but it still seems good for Hawk.

And honestly a lot of times when you win with Gief you don’t even need to use piledrivers much at all, that match is not played like that vs Hawk…you basically keep him out…why risk an SPD in that instance…you do it on jump it or when least expected not on wake up in front just dash back or something, lol
