Well I can say that most of them are cutout because why…they will probably die. The actors for Rick, Shane, Glenn, Dale, and Laurie are all good. Andrea/Carol are ok. The only people I see as bad are obviously Meryl and T-Dog since they are the race related part of the group being that they hate each other. They’re fodder but not in the sense that I know if they will die or not but that’s what I see them becoming.
I can’t predict exactly what will happen since Kirkman said they specifically made it different than the book. There are few of the characters in the group that weren’t in the comic and a few things that should have already happened but I don’t want to spoil anything for anybody. After it goes down I’ll elaborate in a spoiler post.
Who cares, Norman Reedus’ character is pretty cool. (I think so, anyway.) While everyone else are being sissies, not wanting to desecrate the walkers’ by taking shit they need, he’s like… You people suck at surviving. They’ve managed to survive so far by complete dumb luck, aka mary-sue plot device magic, by doing all the wrong things and giving away they’re ammo and things. Yeah, sure, nice people, etc. Nice guys finish last, but not when you have magical plot device powers. :>
I still like the show, though. But it’s totally tropey. :>
EDIT:
Also, I’ve been meaning to ask. With increased interest (meaning, I’m not the only one) in SCV, when it drops, will it be alright if we have a setup or two for it on Wednesdays? I’m working on finding a telly to bring, but I’ll have no trouble bringing my console and everything to play on. My friend Kyra wants to play, and I think Ruckus said he might? I’d really like to play, even if there’s only me and two other people playing, since I do intend on playing in tournaments for SCV. And if Mick rolls through on a Wednesday, it’d be cool to have a place to play with him since I’m kind of his apprentice (joekz) now. haha.
One thing I’ve noticed with comics being adapted to film/tv is that they always get rid of one important thing. Internal narrative. You don’t have to do it everywhere but you should have enough of the important stuff from the source material. You miss out on so many good lines and characterizations.
That’s one of the main reasons why I don’t think they’ve made a good Punisher film outside of the mediocre Thomas Jane one since guess what? They had that internal dialog. It’s so important to these characters, especially ones like Rick. You never get to really hear his thoughts until the end of episodes when he talks into the radio. That should be done mid episode sometimes.
For some reason whenever people make fighting game jokes I feel left out. Either I don’t get them or they aren’t funny to me and then I just stand there like uhhhhhhhhhh
I wasn’t here for this, but I remember hearing about it the same night since I used to go to Southern Hills Golfland 3 nights a week back in the day but you guys needs to read this, ROFL…the game was 3rd Strike, lol
I’m 3 weeks into my apprenticeship. I’m not really down with all the shop chores but outside of that it’s a blast. I’m really looking for to doing this and perfecting my craft for the next 30 years. It’s a rarity that someone enters a profession that they always wanted to do then find it actually be fulfilling.
GMX is finally over, this weekend was a weekend full of animes, stress, dudes in derp costumes, chicks in prostitute gear, sales, buys, fights, parties, mischief, and I got paid to experience it all. FYI I found out that telling the guy in a well made hunters outfit that he looks like “The bad guy from Jumanji” is a good way to piss him off. Also, I saw the Blues Brothers, Superboy, Midlife Crisis Dracula, and “That one dude with the red hair in that one anime I think I saw when I was drunk”.
Also Jacob, now that the convention is over, I’m going to be hitting you up in a few days to get that ink done we were talking about. Stay on the lookout for a text or something (maybe a carrier pigeon named Ted)
Randomly looking up DBZ vids on Youtube and came across some vids of the original English dub. We’ve all grown accustomed to the newer voices but how many of you remember the 1st time Vegeta discovered his Dragonball was missing on Namek? One of my favorite scenes in Anime history.

And then I came across this vid. Apparently some of the Cell Saga was dubbed by the original people that dubbed DBZ as well. Listenin to Mr. Popo at 2:20. It’s so horrible I was in tears. LMAOOOO!!!
