When I said Merry Christmas to my “TN brothers,” that wasn’t meaning the slang form “brothas.” It was intended to be like “brothers and sisters of the world,” and I was including you white dudes too. From the likes that post has received: Eugene, Doro, Chris, Flymike, and Bishop. 
@ Tripp: I love it. I honestly can’t function for too long without it. Plus, it’s better to kinda go ahead and get used to it if you wanna hit up tourneys in diff spots because you never no what to expect. But like death and taxes, some form of shit-talking is a guarantee. It can make you fold, crumble, or even cry like a few guys have. I have a friend who was a Tekken regular in this scene. He even came down to Nash with me when Jason got T6BR. So he was trying to get serious for a while. Dude actually quit playing because he hated the shit-talk at Fun Fair and houses, and actually told everyone, “Yo, this is the reason why I’m quitting.” I had to respect it, but damn man. At the end of the day, everyone still fucked with everyone, so I was a little wtf at first. I still talk to him from time to time, and he’s got his music production thing going, but to my knowledge he hasn’t played Tekken since and when asked about it he’ll still bring up shit-talking as the reason.
But anyways, if you have tough skin, then I think it can invigorate and fuel you. This is especially good if you’re playing a match with no support in your corner while your opponent as his boys around. But the ideal situation is to have both sides going at it. This is a competitive sport, but it’s not golf lol. So I embrace it.
Also, I don’t think it’s about certain areas having more respect for one another so much as it’s just about the type or calibur of player. Typically, the oldheads don’t engage in it too much. They’ll make a sly remark or wisecrack here and there, but they’re more focused on exposing you as a fraud on the screen.
@ Lee: Man, to be honest. I glanced at your post, read the word “brother” while seeing 2 fucking Hulks, and liked it. Then I went back and actually read it afterward lol. But sometimes you can scroll through posts and find keywords from certain people and instantly tell whether it’s worthy.

In Dutch ‘internet’ is a verb. You don’t say:

Dutch is so insanely similar to English but also so incredibly different in so many ways. Idioms don’t translate at ALL. There are also many terms that simply don’t translate. There’s both the language barrier to consider and the cultural barrier.
@Shawn: I like that just “I internet”. I know what you mean about the language being similar yet different. German is the only other language I really know anything of though its been so long since I have been back that the definition of “know” is very narrow now sadly. Unless something has changed with the slang though Germans will use the verb usually. Ich spiele fussball (I play football) or at least thats my experience.
D-Wreck: Yup I paid 1800 for the cabinet and it came wired for PS3 and arcade board so I had to get it dual modded later for X-Box. I actually got it used from a fellow SRK member in MS when he sold it. If you are looking for a new one it will probably run you somewhere around 1.5-2.5K I would say depending on what you get. I will say mine works great and the only issue I have had with it is there is some problem with the on-board sound card that causes feedback through the speakers on the cab. I am not sure how to fix it myself so I said fuck it and gave it its own external sound system that sounds better anyway. The monitor that comes with it accommodates 2 HDMI inputs, a PC input and 2 component inputs.

I’d say I’m the opposite. I really only like grapples in tekken and SF. By that I mean just king and zangief. I hate tager and I’m not a huge fan of Clark and daimon. I hate when you have to do a combo into the throw. It’s annoying.
