Yes.
You should come to the club tonight, they’re going to have a DJ there
 … This. Beat me to it…
Just reserved my two bed room at the hilton for Final Round, we have 1 open spot (3 people are with me so far), so if you want to STAY (not ride unless you want to drive to starkville, ms) with us, please PM and I’ll message you for how we are splitting this.
This is a Fri-Sun thing.
I have my own room already, but how much to share your bed?
It’s not cheap, PM for details.
Win.
Ok guys, GA players are here, line is now 8 deep, no one is allowed quarter matches today sans the mall workers so $10 free play if you were at the tourney, $20 if you weren’t…lots of players today and good comp so come on down!
Do we have any idea how many setup we’ll have available at fight night tonight? As always, I volunteer my 360 console, but I need a TV or monitor for it.
I wont make it tonight so my stuff is out but Rukus advised he would be bringing a full PS3 set up with TV.
Damn, that’s you and Squabb out. Gentlemen, we need your assistance!
First off, everybody calm down. We all know that 3rd strike is the best game ever, so there’s no need to argue about the merits about any other game. Let’s all just bask in the glory of 3rd strike. Yea, let us praise it on high.
Secondly, I wanted to say GGs to everybody I played at GameGalaxy. Yun is definitely shaping up to be really good…I pity anyone playing sim…or anybody without a reversal move. I could see him playing like 3s Makoto once everybody gets really good with him. And you can do some serious damage with his command throw. Once more players start mixing that command throw more, oh god are people going to hate Yun.
Man, twin dive kicks are more annoying than they were in 3rd. At medium range, I could shoryu dive kicks most of the time…however, at close range it was impossible to react to (for me). So I went to trying my normals and it wasn’t like fighting rufus. Cr. jab wouldn’t hit him on the way up and cr. strong wouldn’t beat him on the way down. The only Ken normals that were blowing up dive kick was cr. fierce and you have to do it REALLY early. I think the key to beating dive close up is to do a normal that’s going to hit it early bc dives tend to have a bunch of priority. You can also jump back during gaps…that seemed to work ok for me, but you know…you’re still kind of at close range so the yun player can react and dive again.
Yang seems like the more fun twin to me, though. Cr. foward into slash is just as good as it was in 3rd…maybe better. It blows up crouch techs and is pretty long range, so counter pokes can be punished, too. His EX slashes didn’t strike me as being terribly good because it doesn’t afford him the same opportunities it did in 3rd. You can combo into normals slashes from lights and the damage isn’t enough to merit usage; the meter is better being saved for FADC tricks. I didn’t get very much time to experiment with his command grab, I imagine it’s similar to Yuns.
Anyway, enough ranting. I’ll be at Hastings…my tv is far too large to carry though.
But
Benji On Ice is on right now…
Headed out that way now
Don’t type and drive
Hey Dream, can you clear something up for me? Are you saying that once there are a certain number of players, then paying the 75 cents a game is no longer an option? I thought it was a choice… just making sure because there were a couple people interested in coming with me to the tourney (but not to enter) if they could play a couple games of AE, but I may have told them wrong with regards to pricing… I’d told them they could pay per game.
If it’s $20 free play only, then that might not be as appealing for casual people who are only gonna stay a couple hours, given the wait might be a little while on a busy day, and I expect Sat will be a busy day…
Just wanting to make sure I’ve got the right information before I go spreading it around.
Zutsuki: It’s up to the majority of the players. These guys here voted today on paying the $20 all day thing so everyone else has to pay $10 or $20 depending on if they were at our previous tourney or not.
Here are the exceptions:
Guys that work in the mall, they can pay 75 cents a spot because they are regulars and come in from time to time and are the majority spenders on the cabinets.
Anyone that wants to play 1 game only on all day has to pay $1.00 but can’t play again once their winning streak is over…
Not everyone will be happy with this, the guys that paid their $20 won’t be happy for the 75 cent players who get to only spend what they want and the 75 cent guys don’t want to pay $10-20…
So to answer your question the game will be set up on quarters probably throughout the day, but since I won’t be here anyway I will probably decide while in Kingsport if the game will go to $1 per play for the day with an increased win limit or the normal $10-20…
I mean, you have to understand the reality of this, they want to come on the busiest day and pay 75 cents a game whereas we have people coming repeatedly that will be here so we have to address both sides but it will be coin until people take a vote at the tourney, most likely a $1 per play.
Bringing mine.
Ok, so that’s one PS3 + TV from Rukus, and one 360 Setup from Justin. I can have a second 360, but need a TV/monitor.
Thanks for the info…
I personally am fine with $1 a play, as I realize $.75 is cheaper than anywhere else. I would prefer the option of pay-per-play, though, whether it’s $1 or .75. But I can definitely see how ‘all day’ is a better deal for other people who can stay longer. I’d just assumed it was a choice that the individual could make depending on how long they thought they could stay, but I suppose the logistics of charging per play are tricky when you have to change the cabinet settings to free play…
So just to make sure I understand, if the game does go on ‘all day’, then someone can pay-per-play (for $1 or whatever) only once per day? Or am I reading it wrong, and you meant once-per-play (or once-per-capped-winstreak) with no limit on repeat plays?
Sorry if I’m coming across as nitpicky, I just wanna make sure i understand… I won’t be able to stay too long on Sat (as usual).
