Tennessee - Super Tekken Justice 4: This-is-not-Jersey Negro Edition

Can’t say it any better than that. I do want to see how Cody and Bison play however.

dee jay is the new sagat.

@Cylus:

Oh, I don’t disagree. But it’s fun playing different characters with different playstyles. I’ll still have a main and a sub, of course. But this game nearly requires 2 mains because the matchups are gonna be crazy for a while.

No offense taken. However in no way am I complaining. People can main whoever they want, it comes down skill level in the end. I just want to use someone no one is considering so WE can have match-up knowledge across the board like everyone is requesting. Oh trust me, I plan on playing Dudely…A LOT! He is cool and he is black so it is a must. Just day one Im going to choose a character, sit down with them and master them along with the other 3. Also, the Dudely train will stop just like the Ken train and the Sagat train. People will learn that match-up day one and figure out the few holes he may/will have. I believe that I have said before that when you take a look at a top 16 at tournaments, you find few Sagats. But he is top teir why is that? He is God in Street Fighter 4 right? Everybody knows the match-up and he has one or two weaknesses that a skill player can expose. Same thing will happen with Dudely IMO.

Cylus: I feel you. That’s why out of all the 10 new characters, for about the first 2 months Im picking one and will try and Master them. That will leave me with 4 characters.

i love maining underused characters,so im gonna try and master Adon and Hakan.(unless Adon gets somewhat popular or something, but even then im still gonna use him)I will play w/ Dudley (no homo) as oppose to mastering him since everyone is gonna use him.

Am I the only person who finds the Arcade stick a little uncomfortable? I seemed out of place when everyone was playing w/ their fight sticks last saturday.

Edit:dbl posting FTL

Sagat is Really, really, really, really, good…in the right hands!(vanilla)

I see what you did there, and I approve.

Also, I’m gonna main Ibuki… with my co-gets sacked by the decency police

Also, also… Best. Wallpaper. Ever.

Well you see few Sagtats in the states. Look at the Japanese ranking and there are way more Sagtats at or above 40K points. And most of the best players have him as a back up (Wong,Sanford for example)

Also I dont think anyone in Memphis had a mastery of anyone they played. We all know certain characters well but I dont think I would call it mastery by any means. Hell most people I know dont even play the same main they did at start except for me and I think Cylus. And since most of us only get certain match up practice on the regular that makes “mastery” a lofty goal at best.

I’d say Majin was pretty much there. Not master but really knew the ins and outs of Gief.

For the record, dudley was always a big mixup with high damage character in other games. Him being the same way now does not mean he’l be good. Zone his ass.

I bet Sim and Grapplers are going to eat him alive.

In regards to the mastery topic, Bruce Lee once said that he only considered someone to be a “Master” when he is finally laid to rest. He never referred to himself as one, only as a student-master. The path of learning never ends.

I made the exact statement a couple of threads ago about the Japanese and Sagat. He is consistently in the tops along with Ryu…OVER THERE! But w/e about Sagat and teirs or whatever! Its a new day with a new game Im sure theories etc will change.

And I feel you about the mastery thing. I actually mained Ken for a long time and switched. What I should do instead of looking to play with one character is just hop in the lab and see who fits me best. More logical anyway.

Hiryu and Eraser: Are yall just joking about DeeJay or do you think he will have the potential to be really good?

He knows Gief and he’s really good but he hasn’t reach mastery level yet. There’s a lot of character specific stuff he hasn’t really experienced. One example was that last tournament he wasn’t reversal SPD’ing Hazan Shu when he fought Mekkanic.

Mastery of a character is also an ever-evolving thing. New tricks/gimmicks/whatever are found for characters and you have to stay on top of yours, or even develop new tricks/gimmicks/etc yourself.

Here’s a good place to start. Can you visualize every single attack your character has? Do you know all of their exact ranges? Do you know their hitboxes? Do you know when they are useful? Do you know which ones are the most useful and which ones leave at frame advantage or disadvantage? Do you know all your character’s links?

The list goes on and on but as you can see, truly mastering a character takes a long time. I haven’t mastered Balrog cause I didn’t play him consistently enough (and I played him a lot). SSF4 I’m gonna try sticking to a single (top tier) character that fits my style.

And I’m gonna play the best rushdown character with the nicest ass. Just saying.

Damnit Duckie. Stop being a pedo.

Also, I’m tier whoring this time as well. Fuck Ken. I’m not dropping him because he got better, but I’m definitely looking to the higher characters this time.

**GdBell **- I’d worry more about your Sagat and Akuma, in my opinion. I used Guile, Ryu, and Sagat to beat you…along with the usual dose of Honda and Blanka. you’re like 1-35 against me. I’d work on your main characters before hopping on to the counterpick bandwagon. Like Cylus said, you’re not just gonna sit down and master a character just like that.

…besides, if I remember correctly, that balrog experiment didn’t work out too well at all.

You gotta put in the time and train. If you can get a hold on a stick then switch instantly and never use a 360 pad again you’d be better off.

lol Sure it didn’t workout. But I just picked him up that day. Ive gotten better. You will see him again in a few months.

Also, when we are playing online, Im playing stick because Im forcing myself to switch because I can see the benefits. Im a pad player by trade so it is taking some getting adjusting too. Trust me Im taking more steps than counterpicking and you will soon see your win margin shrink CONSIDERABLY. The matches are already becoming closer so its just a matter of time before I can put it all together. I look forward to our net meeting.

Duckie: You know shes Japanese right?

how come i’ve never gotten to play gabe??
