My son plays SFIV and we live in Knoxville. He is 14 but he is a really good player. We met Linuka at Final Round (nice guy). You can play him on PS3 = Ragingraven-SRK (he is not currently playing on psn though,it got the ylod for the second time and died but he is getting a new one soon) or XBox= RagingravenSRK. His name is Joshua and his SRK username is Ragingraven5. We will be at the Game Crazy tournament Monday night and the upcoming Game Galaxy tournament in Nashville. He would love to find some local players. The East TN scene needs a serious kick in the butt.
We will be there on May 8th. Will you all be doing casuals on Friday night? If so we may come down Thursday or Friday. My father in law lives in Nashville so we come there sometimes anyway. Josh has played SSFIV all day (we found a copy today in Clinton,TN) and said the game is awesome. He is a Viper and Rufus player but he also plays a lot of different characters. He fooled around with Dudley, Juri, Ibuki and I don’t know who else today. I know he is looking forward to playing with the Middle and West TN people to help improve his game. We have heard a lot about the skills of the players in your area and look forward to meeting everyone. Let me know if he needs to preregister.

I agree though about East TN needing a better scene… we just need a PUBLIC place to play… maybe if the turnout is good GameCrazy will be good enough to host weekly casual play or something of that sort… those guys seem “fighting game friendly”, so we will see…

Alright everyone, called up my soon to be former manager, and he said our DM hasn’t emailed us back about the tourny and what the prize will be. I’ll call him again later today and post. Worse thing, we sit around playing some vanilla casuals, which we could probably get a free tourny for just shits and giggles going on. We are doing the midnight at least.
Also, John, I am not driving out to Murfreesboro to play casuals in vanilla SFIV the day i get Super. Nothing against you, especially since I doubt it has any weight as far as overall importance due to you being on your way out, but please get the details and let us know.
Oh, one other thing. If I am understanding this correctly, then we have a kid whose mom not only fully supports him in his competitive gaming career, but is also knowledgeable about the game he is playing. That is pretty daggone awesome. Would have loved to have that back when I was 14. Was Joshua the same kid that did casuals with Justin Wong on the stream at FR? If so, several of us were watching that match and he is going to be GREAT. Oh, and the mom’s name is Crystal, like my mom, so bonus point for that. Look forward to seeing you all on the 8th!

i don’t know if any memphis people are interested, but i found out this morning that the gamestop on union is having a midnight release and a tournament starting at 9:30 tonight, winner gets free copy. one problem: pad only… =’( I’ll probably go anyway, i use bison so i really only need one button, assuming the players aren’t very good.
