I’ve decided that I’m going to start collecting fighting game posters. I now have one for SCV and SF4 3D edition on DS. But the poster looks good. And It’ll be funny to look back at it and go “lolwut 3D edition on DS???”

Was there much reason for Marvel on PS3? I’m just asking. Knoxville must primarily be a PS3 scene. :wgrin:
lee - yea knoxville is mostly ps3 scene… i changed KOF to 360. its fixed in tourney announcements.
crystal - yea we run ae every friday. but it usually has fewer players than marvel does. my apt will be a mad house, since im housing several out of town players, but I will have the gathering as normal.
I will let Josh know that. He apparently was under the impression that you all hardly ever play SF.

I was under the same impression that is why i never bother to try to show up. I was told it was 100% Marvel.

Over the next couple of days I’ll be posting in a lot of the regional threads. I’m primarily handling promotion but where I need help from you guys is getting feelers out to places I have yet to build a rapport with. I know a lot of you have good contacts in scenes for games I’m not a part of, as well as other sources. Get that shit to those people. Let’s make MWC as huge as possible!
Point being, you probably should get used to playing on PS3…as your National Championship runs ALL of its games on it. So if you look forward to competing at these tournaments…you may want to get used to competing on a PS3.
We’ve had this argument before, I just don’t seem to understand the anti-PS3 thing at all here in this thread. But its cool. Not trying to start a firestorm.
The cut and dry reason why people do not like playing on ps3 is the psn connections are trash and the input lag issue.
Because depending on which fighting game you are playing, PS3 is either clearly inferior, or equal at best. The only good point is the controller for pad players.

The only and I repeat, ONLY reason EVO uses PS3s is because Sony sponsored them and, well, they’re free. That’s it. It’s not the better system for fighting games.
Why don’t you understand the issue about PS3s?
Frame drops on MK9, frame drops/slowdown in the middle of combos on UMVC3, 2 frame input delay on Street Fighter; shall I go on?
Why would you run a national tournament on anything other than the best system? If you have Sony sponsoring you with systems instead of having to pay for 100+ XBOX 360 systems, who do you think you are going to go with?
The only think that should be played on PS3 is Tekken and probably Soul Calibur.
On top of this a lot of fighting games get “ported” from 360 to PS3 (sans Tekken because it was developed on PS3) making it even more wtf but that’s besides the point, the PS3 is an inferior system for these games.
EVO has also utilized things like Capcom Classics Collection for PS2 (crazy lag on ST), HDR on PS3 (problems) ST on PS1 all during the ST duration from 2003-2009 or so with 6-7 different systems being used for ST. They never were consistent with it and it looked crazy having to change year by year for things:

I mean, it’s pretty black and white. Free systems = business decision. The better system for fighting games is 360.
Same went for people gung ho about PS2. Dreamcast blew that system out of the water for fighting games. PS2 was god awful for them and more people played on XBOX anyway, so again, things that just didn’t make sense.
And about the “pad” that PlayStation players have cherished for so many years…The PS to 360 converter without using a wired 360 pad exists and the only problem I have heard is on MVC3 but shouldn’t be an issue ever again…

actually most events have banned PS3 pads(due to wireless issues). You have to use PS2 pads with a converter. So If someone really wanted to use a Playstation pad on the Xbox there is really no excuse anymore with the Etokki and other converter companies out there.
People @ Jio’s place will play anything you bring with you to play. Hell, we been doing loads of SCIV lately but no one later thinks to mention it. There was this one day I came in and there was literally nothing but MK LMAO
