Make that a “‘Josh and Lee go to EVO’ donation drive.” LOL Everyone always tells me that I need to go to EVO, to which my response is “are you going to pay for the trip?”
Damn, it sure is. As much as I want to go and wreck some people in Marvel, I probably won’t make it. Still not underdstanding why it’s a two-day event…
Maaaan, I went 6-0 in Marvel grand finals yesterday. BLOWN. UP.
Thanks guys from coming out and supporting yesterday, KOF guys here showing they are getting better based on overall tourney performances… =)
For once with the museum being open and the tournament going on the arcade did ok this month. It’s bad that I need 3 events a month for this place to survive though, ouch.
Crystal: Sorry we can’t do one in Knoxville unless someone throws more tournaments there as an organizer…Jio doing them every year once wont cut it…make Josh learn how to run a bracket, lol
If anyone wants to come with me THIS Thursday Feb 2 to Huntsville Fight Night, let me know now, I have room for 1-2 TOTAL and that’s it. I have a Honda Accord so either you are squished or riding in the back.
Is this game going to troll most of you like MVC3 did for so long until you realized it wasn’t proper “Street Fighter?” LOL
Tekken vs Street Fighter = footsies from afar, but up close everyone has easy mode CHAIN COMBOS. The game is essentially a combination of Street Fighter Alpha 1 and Rival Schools with a small bit of X-Men VS Street Fighter built in.
Sure, those sound “fun” from the surface but add some Power Stone or Marvel Super Heroes gems to the mix and the game is wild.
Bottom line: It’s not Street Fighter, it’s a different style of game, don’t pretend it is and bitch about it, lol…some games are meant to be fun like Marvel 3, Smash Bros (seriously, you have to strip it DOWN for it to be playable against people right down to the stages) and SFXT is going to be another one…I wouldn’t dig so far into crazy competitive gaming on this but to each his own…
I think I’d like to go. I won’t need executive chair since Sarah still has that other one. I might be able to pull some strings to get a ride back to my house from the mall afterwards. Not sure yet.
Also, Hwa is fucking dumb. I just saw a Hwa player, fighting a Mai and he lands a throw, throwing Mai into the corner. He activates HD, runs up to her as she’s waking up and goes for the command grab super. She jumps away, and he just neomaxes, AAing and killing her. She would have died if she’d gotten thrown too, because you can just max cancel the throw for like 800 damage. Dude playing Hwa just laughs. What a BS trap. I hate that character.
Let’s do it!!! We can travel together. LOL! I found a good deal on airline tickets flying out of Knoxville through Allegiant Air. I am going to wait a little while to see if this other deal comes through for him to go but I am not waiting to long so the price doesn’t go up.
I am a little confused as to the 2 day thing for KiT too. I seriously doubt the turnout will be huge. Last year even Tekken wasn’t that big. Oh well at least it isn’t that far for me but it sucks for out of town people. If you needed a place to sleep I am sure someone could accommodate you. Or is it a matter of not having a way to get here?
Yeah that kinda sucks. I think he knows how to run a bracket and what he isn’t sure on he could learn in like 30 sec. LOL!
Milln offered to drive me, but my problem is random turnout numbers too. I don’t really want to spend two days to possibly win $70. I might just use those two days to train in SC5 to prepare for Jason’s and Memphis’ February tournament.
I completely understand that. I wouldn’t be driving 6 hrs to Memphis if there wasn’t a pretty good turnout. Josh won almost $200 there the last time (if I remember correctly). Plus the pot bonus made it even more worth it. He has birthday and christmas money that he has to put toward tournaments anyway (plus he has to help pay if he wins). He doesn’t get away with not contributing. He wants to go to Memphis, Final Round, PowerUp, Seasons Beatings: Summer Slam, MWC and EVO. My bank account is crying just thinking about it.
While I like that idea for Marvel, larger tournaments would take too long to complete. I hate it when they last past 11:00, because everyone starts playing sluggishly.
Na it wouldn’t last to long at all. We just got used to quick tournament play. Marvel should be 3/5 because of how quick the matches are. Lol Tekken was 3 rounds 3/5 and matches went by decent in that game. Marvel soon as you sit down your up in the next 5mins tops… no way around it or even less. Makes a person really feel beaten and plus it’s worth the players money. Traveling to lose 2/3 is nerve pounding for some people.
Let me do a little research on the 2/3, or 3/5 for Marvel. I think 5 minutes is a bit on the conservative side, but I’ll look in to it.
On another note, if all goes well, I’ll be at the SCV tourney run by T&G at the Southaven Gamestop tomorrow night with my setup placing KOF/SF casuals.
I got a small issue with that, I’m going to be at work all day til about 4-5 pm, then after I get off I’m heading to the gamestop. I won’t actually have time to go home first, as I work about 10 minutes away from the gamestop in SH, but nearly 45-55 minutes away from my place.
I was actually going to pack my setup and just bring it with me tomorrow to work. Otherwise I’d have no issue giving you a ride. Sorry man.
Anyone know what the hell was up with that glitch with EX Iori? I was playing Chris with EX Iori on point, and after the first match we rematch and suddenly, I just have EX Kyo as my point. Same team except for EX Kyo just being on point. It was the weirdest thing.
