Seriously guys, save your money. DO NOT buy SFxT. Don’t feed into the bs that these new games have to sell for them to make the next SF game. Capcom has PLENTY of money and if they want to make another SF game they’ll do so regardless of whether the last game sold or not. Otherwise, there would be no SFIV. You guys “supporting” the fighting game community is why Capcom keeps releasing these silly ass games. Buy a game because you’re going to play it. Nobody benefits from you buying a game and NOT playing it…except Capcom’s pockets. If you want to make a real statement, DONT BUY THE GAME. These developers are all about the money and as long as you buy the shit, they’re satisfied. Whether you enjoy the game or not is irrelevant to them. Just as long as you buy.
You buying the game and DLCs is telling them that you have no problem with what they are selling to you and they’ll keep doing it as long as you buy it. They know that certain games will sell by the name alone and because people have been blindly buying these games, the quality has steadily decreased. Each game comes out with less content than the last while the price stays the same. Can you say less work for the same if not more profit? Why would these developers bust their ass’ trying to pack all these modes, features, and characters into a game when they know you’re gonna buy it regardless? This is why quality games are hard to find these days. This is why our characters will never get their moves back.
It’s a shame that I can turn on SFA3 on PLAYSTATION and have more content than any version of SFIV that I got the 1st and ONLY time I bought the game. Fuckin sad…

It is unfortunate that game developers these days are more concern with money than their fans’ needs. I don’t think they even know who their fans are anymore. However if they did listen to ALL our requests, some fans will still bitch about it.

SFxT looks pretty fun to me. I mean you can not use gems and it’s not like the combo system is gonna be that ABC 123 thing for every combo. Does everyone forget the old capcom made MVC3 videos, it was all magic series and nothing else. Seriously, Ono made SF4 and even if you think 2012 was unbalanced or whatever the man still brought a dead genre not only back to life but into the forefront.
Yeah I’m not too excited about it myself yet, but I think the right Ganryu/Honda reveal vid would turn you around. Me, I’m waiting for something along the lines of the sumo bros in a big ol’ 60’s-era convertible dressed for a night on the town cruising the city streets blasting tunes scoring good food good drinks and good bitches (celebrity chef style) yelling sumo shit real loud giving each other like a hundred high fives.

I own 40+ fighting games across 11 systems right now, I do mini fight nights twice a week at my house where we just hype and play the most outlandish shit ever, and its because its a fighting game. It’s competition. I’ve decided my main team is going to be Bob and Mega Man. Team Big Boys Don’t Cry. Don’t hate.

Yeah, when you put it that way it’s kind of hard to argue. I just feel like the climate of the FG market has changed since the FG drought. Before SFIV was released, it would have been reasonable to buy a fighting game to support the scene, genuinely not knowing when the next one was coming. Now that the market is flooded and devs know people will eat shit up, they are putting “shit” out.
I’m finna cancel my Amazon pre-order and (God help me) rent/borrow/play the game at GG when it comes out. If by some miracle it’s good, I’ll cop it then. That money is going skrate to SSX.

OK so what exactly do you not like about the game? I mean all of the things that seem suspect in it so far are optional. It looks like SF footsies with vs. Style combos. Everyone has been bitching about a game that hasn’t even come out yet but not given concrete gameplay evidence. Could be that I haven’t been reading close enough though.
Josh told me recently that he is seriously thinking about switching to Viper. He has always used her but he has used Rufus more. Wolfkrone and him are supposed to do a first to 50 at FR. He told Josh he wants to play him in a really long set so that Josh can get more offline practice.

Josh may have a good opportunity to get to go to EVO for sure this year. I was going to try my best to take him but if this works out it will make it a hell of a lot easier and be a for sure thing that he gets to go. I am keeping my fingers crossed. If this doesn’t work out maybe I need to run a “get Josh to EVO” donation drive. Hahaha!
The character models, life bars, stages, and general art style of the game look ugly to me. The way the game plays doesn’t appeal to me either. No I haven’t actually played it but I don’t need to physically do those combos myself to know that they are ugly to my eyes. It’s bad enough that the Tekken characters look stupid but the Mega Man thing just took the cake for me. It’s a slap in the face and people are just determined to give these lazy developers their money. Im convinced and obviously they are too that regardless of what they decide to do with these games, you guys will buy it anyway. SFxT is flaming with that fact.
@ Graham: You just don’t get it. “It” being the reason why what is known of this game so far, plus past track record is enough to almost make people want to wipe their hands clean of Capcom. You want specific examples of exactly what is so “wrong”, but if I simply told you damn near EVERYTHING then I’d be overeacting right? A few of us been playing fgs a while and we can see what’s what, even if its not our cup of tea, we can be like, “Well ok it looks to be solid” or “I won’t play this but I can respect it”. Then there’s stuff that you can see is on the brink of ass-sanity. Game hasn’t came out yet, I don’t know shit yet, yadda yadda, that’s fine. YOU can anticipate it, buy it. That’s cool. Ill still be cheering for you in a tourney or match even if its hard to watch.

Plus I’m not so loyal to characters that I’ll play whatever abomination comes out just because a certain character is in it. Thats not my thing. Also, lets not forget that I like and played lots of characters that are already in the game. And the portrayals fucking made me shed a tear. Just gonna hate when people play this and then possibly try to get into TTT2 or whatever and ask how they do some hideous move where _____ spins and twirls like a jackass. That’s prob what I’m most pissed at. Having to endure what Capcom did to Namco’s characters and then the game looks like shit too and its me confused as to what the fuck people are hype about. And then me perfectly understanding that crap sells and Capcom uses black magic and someone will come to Game Galaxy with a $40 SFxT Kuma fart t-shirt.
