lmfao guess who wonnnnt be coming back
So no one will probably care but me but Mayans MC just confirmed a long rumor/theory that The Shield and the Sons of Anarchy universe are connected.
It was originally theorized due to one of the gangs from The Shield, The One-Niners also existed in SOA. People figured it was just Kurt Sutter (writer for both shows) reusing material. Later it was further hinted they were connected due to Michael Chiklis appearing in a cameo role during one of the last episodes of SOA and his character has a very similar family story to Vic Mackey.
Sutter never confirmed or denied the connection.
But in the newest episode of Mayans MC one of the characters name drop Vic Mackey (main character of the Shield). I’m a huge fan of both shows. So Sutter finally confirming they are in the same universe is very cool to me.
I remember the Shield, I need to go back and finish that one day
I tend to avoid the Glenn Close era…basically any scene with her in it.
I really liked Glen Close in The Shield. Jay Karnes (Dutch) going from lovable underdog down on his luck in the Shield to a possessive Sociopath in SOA was incredibly jarring at first.
Is The Shield a good show? I know Goggins is in it at some point, and I loved him in Justified.
Goggins is one of the main characters. The Shield was definitely ahead of its time. Watching in present day though you can tell it was also very of it’s time.
Right on, I’ll have to add it to the queue.
The shield was one of the first “adult show” in the veign of the wire and sopranos. It put fx on the map
absolutely. It’s a shame that The Shield often gets overlooked because of those two shows.
Not saying they don’t deserve praise but it’s a shame all three of them are very rarely mentioned in the same conversation.
Aight…
Can we not mess with perfection?
but…he doesnt do martial arts.
That’s ok, he only needs to learn how to Round House.
That’s super dope. Haven’t watched Mayans yet, but I loved The Shield and SOA (for the most part).
The first two seasons of SOA are phenomenal. Arguably some of the best ever written for an episodic adult drama. Then it goes off the rails like fucking crazy. There are some genuinely great episodes each season but man…as the seasons went on I was eye rolling constantly because of the needless deaths, outlandish situations and copious amounts of plot armor.
The Shield was insanely consistent throughout. The last few seasons were non-stop fucking insanity. And I mean that in every great way possible.
Lol soa and the shield made me angry as a black man but I couldnt stop watching because they were good lmfao
Elaborate?
Interesting…
