Tekken x Street Fighter

Good Morning,

Is it probably the case that TxSF will come out on the next generation console and not on PS3 or X360? The reason why I am wondering this is because Namco trends to release their Tekken games in arcade first before later releasing it on console almost a year later. That means TxSF may not come to console until 2014. Second, if the game was coming out early next week, they would need to start releasing trailers and gameplay now. Therefore, I am assuming the game will come out late next year at the earliest. By then, the successor to the PS3 and X360 would be announced or even getting ready to be released. Thanks.

Okay.

I was actually asking a question.

No. Just…just no.

This will likely be console only (like SC3/4/5) and I believe we’ll see something by next E3 which is when the big two will probably debut their next consoles. I think TxSF will appear at this generation’s tail end. PS4 and XB720 or whatever may be backwards compatible which makes developing TxSF for these consoles a safe option. There is a possibility they may shift the game to new consoles, but I think there’s some chunk of work done already. Then again, we know Namco’s not above delaying a game for several reasons. Let’s wait and see.

You make some good points. I hope you are right.

I wonder if the SFxT debacle has affected development of TxSF.

I thought the damn thing was cancelled? Where did I hear that from…

I don’t know what stuff you’re smoking but it seems to be rather strong. Maybe you should tone down the dosis, son - and share it with me.

Newports, hardly strong enough to induce videogame industry fantasies. I only posted what I think will go down. It may happen, or not. When I get hardcore info I’ll let you know.

Harada’s team being focused on the development of TTT2 is what’s affecting TxSF. They ain’t in a rush

So because they are not in a rush, do you think it will be on this generation or next generation console?

I bet is on next generation. Current gen is on it’s last legs and many people are ready to move on.

I have the same feeling too but I am praying and hoping that I am wrong.

Don’t forget his team was brought in on smash as well.

No.

I don’t really care if this game will release on current or next-gen consoles, or if it will be released in arcades first. All I care about is the roster and customization.
I’d also like it if TxSF had “Crossover Teams” where if you teamed up a character from one side with a certain character from the other side, they would have a special intro, win pose, tags, etc. For example, lets say Chun-Li and Lei Wulong would be in TxSF and someone paired them together, they would have a special intro, win pose, tags, etc.

Anyway, here’s my character wishlist:

My only question for TxSF is how are they going to do the SF chars? All the links, specials, and supers probably wouldn’t translate well to a Tekken engine, unless they’re done like clean hits.

They’ll need to give SF characters some better specials. I can see a tatsu working okay but a fireball will be damn near useless outside of a combo.

I don’t see how this game will work. No way it could play like both SF and Tekken at the same time, they might as well go for a new system all together instead of some warped amalgam.
