tekken is for real in japan muthafuckerz. check out japan defending the home turf against korea last nite:
No I wouldn’t like marvel to end if only one character died because it ain’t marvel.
Again, I want to play TTT 2 not tekken with 2 characters.
I have fond memories of catching back rollers and taggers when they are mashing tag attempting to escape before they die only to be picked up and okizemed off the floor, then when they realize they need to stop, I hit them with a ground move and they die anyway…It’s great.
I’m guessing you probably didn’t play much tekken tag so I might be speaking a different language here.
Only thing that sucks is now…who the hell should I try to pair up with Jack…
I can’t wait to see what Ogre looks like.
lol @ all the scrub “I only played TTT seriously” & “finally a good tekken game” comments.
Since its obvious you havent been keeping up, no need to wait a year and be disappointed, this is clearly running as Tekken 6 Tag, not TTT plus 1 tag.
If you didnt play Tekken 5 or 6 I dont see how anyone could be amped over this.
Another jack, obv.
needs ogre and true ogre
I dont even care about MvC3 anymore3
Leo was in the debut trailer. That pretty much locks Tekken Tag Tournament 2 as a day one buy for me. The problem, though, is that now I’ll need to learn another character to team up with my lady love. Julia, maybe?
i can’t wait to do a full Bryan Fury combo and tag King in and finish w/ an iSW or GS!! that would be sweet!
LOL @ ppl not wanting more T6. Did you guys even SEE the trailer? This is clearly T6 Tag.
This is the second time I’ve cosigned a post from YYB today.
It seems to be as close to T6 as was the original TTT to T3. I still want to know how they would tag near the wall. It also makes more sense for bound in the game as you can tag. Seemed stupid to me with 1-on-1.
If Ogre is in tekken tag 2, I will…fist pump repeatedly!
If not, Kaz and Lee ftw. Or Kaz and Baek. Oooo so many choices.
Just remembered a potential tag-team: Alisa and Lars…Maybe namco will accidentally forget to include them. And put Jun and Ogre in instead.
These comments are killing me. TTT is a DREAM MATCH, every character from the series will be represented its nearly 99% confirmable. The team already said this game will have the largest cast ever in a tekken game so common sense would naturally have you take Tekken 6’s cast and fill in the remaining handfull of characters left out.
Raishin…I see you pimpin’:smokin:
Are they really missing that many people that won’t end up as just a pallet swap, or close enough to one? I know Gon won’t be back, so who else? Kunimitsu?
I would count on a good bit of them being their own characters.
Take the original TTT for instance, this was the first time you seen the characters missing from Tekken 2 with the cast of 3. In 3 you got several characters that replaced the Tekken 3 versions:
Hworang > Beak
Forest > Law
Bryan > Bruce
Julia > Michelle
Jin > Jun & Kazuya
Ogre & True Ogre > Tekken 2 sub bosses
So what Namco essentially did was start to make the “replacements” slowly into their own characters, creating two unique identities. So maybe 40% of Nina and Anna’s moves are the same in TTT, but they were different enough to play next to nothing alike.
Then you had special cases with characters that shared moves or styles but werent actual swaps of each other:
Kaz & Hei & Jin
Bears & Jacks
Kaz & Devil/Angel
Paul & Hei
Anna & Nina
King & Armor King
Law & Lee
Michelle & Wang
Yoshimitsu & Kunimutsu
TTT was the beginning to stop this.
The characters that then made the T4 cut were made completely separate from one another. There were only about 20 characters IIRC.
The returning characters in T5 that didnt make T4 then came in with relative ease as the characters they shared similarities with no longer shared similarities with them.
So all this boils down to is this, since it makes sense:
-TTT Kunimitsu with a few new moves = same Kunimitsu since Yoshimitsu has been his own character since Tekken 4
-Jun may be a little different, more like Jun with new moves, less like Asuka, even though Asuka in theory SHOULD have the new moveset. She’ll most likely have her staple 3-ring circus mixups (hopefully they take this away from Asuka) and 3+4, again taking some things away from Asuka that were originally Juns.
-Dr. B was never like anyone else, he’ll get new moves plus his old attacks
-Angel and Devil might be swaps of one another with the same moveset, since Kaz plays nothing like Devil now
-Alex & Roger in theory could be different characters since T6 Roger is pretty different, Alex can adopt the T2 style.
-Unknown should retain the ability to switch style on the fly
Tiger should be an Eddy swap
Miharu should be an Xiaoyu swap
Eddy and Christie should be completely different characters. They have had seperate slots on the character select screen since Tekken 5 but have the exact same moveset excluding throw animations. Eddy has longer range which give him different combo options, Christie’s hitboxes are smaller making some attacks whiff easier.
I also see them having at least 2 Jacks in the game. Probably T6 Jack and then a revamped T2 Jack, which would probably be like a combination of Jack and Bears. Who knows.
Are the people who are already complaining the same people who bitch and moan to put SF4 back on up on a stream that is playing Tekken 6?
I hate wishlist threads, but it’s for TTT2, which means anything is possible.
Kunimitsu should definitely return along with Prototype Jack and Dr. B.
Now, with a little tweaking as YYB said, they should bring back Jun, Alex, and Forest Law. Forest needs to become his own character so damn bad. I’m a Jun fan, but she’s technically deceased. Forest is still referenced in like every game. No since for him to be apart of the young gen of fighters in T3/TTT, then Marshall Law gets broke and takes up the fighting from there. Jeet Kune Do is so extensive, there should be no problem giving Forest a hot movelist. Make Alex closer to DR Roger Jr. with new shit or diff animations/properties of existing moves.
For christ sakes, make Eddy and Christie their own damn characters! For two games now with dedicated slots, this has not made any sense to me.
I don’t know if it’s worth it to see Michelle brought back. It’d be cool though because unlike Nina/Anna who went cryogenic, she’d be mad old and still giving cats that work.
I can’t wait to see Jun come back. Considering this is Tekken and almost no one actually stays dead, I’m surprised it took them this long to bring her back. Same with Kunimitsu, although I didn’t really miss her.
Check a few post back on TZ’s homepage, Tekken team said Jun wasnt dead. Its a dream match anyway Jun is still going to look 23 and youthful.
I dont like Law, so I really dont wanna see two of those queens.
Christie needs a new movelist.
