I’m personally a little disappointed that the initial batches of sticks for the Wii-U (from both Madcatz and Hori) just plug into the Wii Remote… I understand that it’s just the most cost-efficient method: using already-developed technology that’s still supported.

It does, however, make me think of those cheaper “Wii” arcade sticks that simply used the GameCube controller port: ie, it’ll work, but it doesn’t feel to me like a “true” accessory to the console…

Yeah, I’d prefer it plug into the USB port also but it’ll do for now since I already have a WiiMote.

I’m enjoying my Wii-U; but I don’t think it’s perfect or anything, and even now I still have some strong reservations about many of its features, and I do think that Nintendo has (already) made some really stupid design choices with it. But in the end, I’m a system hoarder: inevitably, there will always be at least ONE console-exclusive game that I’ll need to play on any given system. Which basically means I’ll need to own said system. However, let’s not derail this thread with that discussion.

Back on topic of the TTT2 stick: I was also partially hoping that Mad Catz would also branch out and use the Fightstick Pro mold for it; the TE casing is super-convenient for modding, but I really don’t like the aesthetics to it; I prefer the more compact Pro stick…

I don’t like the idea that it plugs into a Wiimote. It means you can’t really use the stick with anything else. I hope eventually that the stick becomes USB or able to be plugged into the Wii U itself. That’s also in hoping the Wii U gets some cool fighting games.

no i agree. if there was an option to cancel my order i would have done long ago. i bought it based on the (speculative) info that it would be available by november, i put my order in two months ago, at this rate it wont be here till february. if i had known this, i would have just waited for canada cup to happen and just bought another discounted VS stick.
